Mostly-white cat performs ridiculous dance for several minutes while playing with newly found twist-tie. Jacob takes twist-tie, thinking that it's a choking hazard (Jacob knows very little about cats). Mostly-white cat makes pathetic mewling sounds. Jacob returns twist-tie. Mostly-white cat performs ridiculous dance for three seconds, then decides that magically appearing-and-disappearing twist-tie is fickle, and thus not deserving of respect. Mostly-white cat proceeds to ignore twist-tie, forever after. Jacob looks to computer to type post about cats. Mostly-white cat is replaced by mostly-black cat, in the meantime.
This is Jacob's life, now, because Jacob now has cats.

Ohio isn't burning down, but Wednesday was one of the worst days I've ever experienced. I've had some pretty bad days. I'm kind of in awe that I've grown enough to not be a complete and total wreck. I'm not even drinking my way out (I wish I were).
I hope the Cali crew starts having better luck.

Talked to the guy who oversaw the first (legal) cannabis warehouse in Alaska for about half an hour, and about halfway through the local main weed dealer did a giant wheelie on his bike across the main boulevard (he's untouchable, including by cops). Life works in mysterious ways.
edit: also, stay safe Cali
Why did he only own it for about half an hour?

Trump probably had a dry turkey sandwich and made the decision to ban Turkey forever.

Get a demo of the separately, and then combine your memories.

I became officially non-single, again, today. I had been worried that I wouldn't have somebody to go to my favorite pumpkin patch (the one next to the semi-abandoned amusement park, which is perfect for Halloween) with. Once again, I prove that I can talk nearly anybody into anything, even semi-abandoned amusement park adjacent pumpkin pickings. I'm very happy.
Oh, wow: I just realized that I'm primarily vegan. Wow.

Freud would have a lot to say about that.
I think Freud would probably say "why have I been brought back to life merely to find myself smushed into an urn?!"

I just smoked some aged GL Pease Key Largo out of my Savinelli Autograph. What a good smoke. Nearly a decade of aging has made this tastier and tastier.

So, Star Trek Discovery. I went in with very low expectations. I think the first episode was a waste of a primetime slot, and certainly was nothing more than a cash grab for CBS All Access, given the way it... ended? Did the episode end? My takeaway from the "transition" is that maybe those NCIS guys would deal with the Klingons.
Episode two was pretty good. It certainly makes some decisions that I wouldn’t have made, and it sure would be nice if someday, somewhere, somebody making Star Trek figures out how shields are supposed to work, but it’s pretty good. It’s definitely a Bryan Fuller show, and it will be interesting to see if that continues, given that he jumped ship (no pun intended) pretty early on.
Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic. I did rather enjoy that there was a nice little homage to Kirk talking computers to death, in the second episode (not much of a spoiler, that).

Not much: fast day.

Some Dunhill Durbar, in my 40s vintage Savinelli KS. It's a cool, long smoke, but less flavorful than I remember. The two hours the bowl lasted was great for catching up on some podcasts, though, this evening. Perfect fine grey ash to the bottom, though it took a little bit of work to get it to stay lit, at top.

To me, HDCD wasn't terribly useful due to the actual quality increase that HDCD gave, but that albums which they bothered to make as an HDCD usually had good mastering.

A great time indeed! But I have to apologize, what I thought was allergies may be a slight cold I'm fighting.....even after allergy meds I still have a tickle in my throat and some congestion. Hoping I didn't pass anything to anyone!
How much kissing were you doing?

No pics, but I made a funky risotto, tonight: miso, beets, garlic and dry Huangjiu, made with sushi rice. Topped with a knob of butter and some excellent parmigiana.

Oh, I am. It was an emergency adoption caused by an asshole being an asshole out of spite, and cats not having a place to go. I'm getting used to them, though one of the cats (the mostly-black one) had some kind of conniption fit, and kept me up last night for hours.
The mostly-white one seems to have been embarrassed by the whole thing:
This was after mostly-black one calmed down, but before I went back to bed. I've gotten used to having them around.
