  1. 6:19 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY

8:06 P.M. THE PACKAGE WAS MISSED AT THE UPS FACILITY, UPS WILL DELIVER ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY

Not a big deal really, but I wonder how a package can be out for delivery and missed at the UPS facility at the same time.

They probably thought that your package was on the truck that was out for delivery, but they actually missed it when they loaded the truck.

  2. Using sensitive headphones like Grados, my SQ-84 hums/buzzes maybe 70% of the time at home. I tried using the amp at work, and there's no hum/buzz at all. So now I have a 30-pound tube amp sitting on my office desk. :D

I guess dirty power is probably the cause of the problem at home. The power choke is close to one of the output transformers, which is probably why I only get the hum/buzz in one channel.

  3. I stand corrected :) I was guessing that USB2.0 was enough but I really was guessing :palm:

I would never run it at 384 though. I run 24/96 and that's it. If it's good enough for Lavry it's good enough for me.

I'm pretty sure USB 2.0 has enough bandwidth for 384.

There's also the USB audio standard. I'm not sure if the class 2.0 version of this supports 384, but you don't have to use it if you write your own driver.

  4. I just ordered one. I wanted to resist it but I just couldn't! :dotu: It was also the dealer's last unit before they have to order more that'll arrive in a few weeks. A sign? It'll be here as soon as tomorrow even.

    Dibs! :P

It looks like the warranty on the QB-9 is not transferable, so I'm tempted to just buy a new one once I have enough money saved up. :palm:

  5. Hmmm, I was under the impression the USB port was to allow for use with external HD's, maybe it can serve as an output too? I've certainly done less research than you though.

If there's an USB host controller for the external HDs, supporting external USB DACs should be relatively simple. :)

  6. If the LCD-2 sounds better than the LCD-1, then I think the price is pretty reasonable. I don't have a pair of LCD-1, but I think the upgrade program is fair unless they gave the impression that it was going to be better.

They should try to improve the cable and the headband though.

this is probably not common knowledge but the stock cable on the lcd1 does not use the shield as a shield. The 2 signal wires are tied together as the positive and the shield is used as a ground signal. The cable itself is heavy, although flexible, it retains some of its prior shape and even in my short use, managed to continually twist upon itself - so agreed on all fronts, the original cable is a serious faux pas ..dB

For interconnects this might be OK, but for headphone cables.... :palm:
