They're obviously making it up as they go along. Assume things will settle down as the ecosystem matures.
Has anyone found any truly compelling apps yet? I use Remote all the time and Pandora is pretty cool on the go in the car. But I haven't been motivated to spend a dime in the App Store yet.

Based on what I've read subsequently, this story has been over-egged. It's not a remote kill-switch, rather a mechanism that prevents applications from accessing the iPhone's Core Location API unless specifically user authorized to do so. Basically, it ensures that random apps can't secretly keep track of your movements via the built-in GPS -- which doesn't seem like a bad thing to me?

Thanks for the push. Mopads work well, particularly when you are (literally) rocking an early-90s Ikea kitchen table as a desk. Guess I shouldn't have gone for the Flimsii.

If, like me, you find it annoying to have Time Machine start churning away when you're already employing your Mac's FireWire bus to transport bits to your Duet, then you're in luck.
Let's you schedule backups when you want them rather than the default hourly behavior. Works fine for me so far, doesn't appear to perform any dodgy hacks and is free as in beer.

Hate to sound like a 16-year-old virgin (or a 13-year-old virgin -- or wherever the kids are pegging the mean these days), but holy shit these are a LOT BIGGER than I thought they would be! Would have to say they also sound a whole lot fuller than the previous set, though since those occupied (charitably) a fifth of the volume, that's hardly a giant surprise.
Viva overkill.

Yeah, sorry, the other options are phone functions (jump to favorites etc.) so it makes sense that the Touch doesn't offer then.

You can set that to do a few different things if you want. Settings --> General --> Home Button is the path.
