  1. June 2008, Hydrocity and I were both gonna build the same DIY phono project. I ordered double parts and a couple of other things hydro needed at mouser. He sent me payment for those extra parts and shipping, and I sent him his stuff. To cover the other parts, he was supposed send me some caps and other parts he already had to finish our project. This never happened. He stalled over and over, and eventually we settled on a t-amp as fair compensation.

T-amp arrived in april 2008, dead. He repeatedly claimed that it worked fine. At this time, I became aware of other problem trades that hydrocity was involved in, and told him I wanted a working amp or $25 as far compensation. He has been unresponsive since then, and I have had no direct word from him, only through jinp, who seems to be acting as some sort of intermediary these days while denying that hydro is a problem.

I don't really expect anything from him at this point, but am more concerned about other traders being wary of him in the future

  2. Seems a bit more common in the audio world than elsewhere in the trading universe. I'm against it because if paypal catches you (read: if you get reported) they'll warn you, then shutdown your account, as it's against the Paypal terms of service to charge extra to accept it. Discuss
