  1. Hey, he assaulted you first, so go for it!
  2. I've decided that I have an addiction that needs intervention. I've been VERY busy this past year too, with 18 new respectable watches in the past 15 months, possibly doubling the number of watches that I own:Rolex Polar 216570 new Thanksgiving 2014 Victorinox Dive Master 500 red dial automatic new Dec 2014 Omega Ti SMP chronograph used Feb 2015Omega Ti PO 8500 Liquid Metal new March 2015Omega Seamaster Pro ceramic chrono new May 2015Rolex Polar Explorer II 16570 used April 2015Rolex GMT II BLNR new June 2015 Omega SMP 2541.80 used August 2015 (gift for son along with a Luminox blue sunburst dial on leather)Omega GSOTM new Sept 2015 Seiko Astron GPS Solar chronograph new Sept 2015 Tudor Black Bay Red new October 2015 Omega SMP 2541.80 used Dec 2015 for me Omega Aqua Terra 2503.33 used Feb 2016 Omega PO 2500 Liquid Metal Limited Ed used Feb 2016 Rolex black Explorer II 16750 used Feb 2016 NOMOS Orion Midnight LE pre-order coming this month Secret watch ordered 4 weeks ago coming this week, to be revealed soon...
  3. I think they did well with the fine-textured clou de paris dial, more so than some watches that have a more coarse block texture (although the AP RO ultra-thin blue dial stops my heart, in looks and price). I like this Omega more than the PP and VC watches I tried on, as it doesn't seem too dressy for a solid gold watch and I could wear it with jeans if I wanted to. My Aqua Terra 2503.33 isn't really a dress watch, but my incoming NOMOS Orion Midnight Limited Ed might fill that role as well as the Tresor, although not as elegant looking (nor as costly).
  4. Really liked test driving the Omega Tresor today, but alas it didn't make it home with me yet. But really enjoying my Titanium Planet Ocean this weekend...
  5. Bought this one back last week, so I'm still the original owner. i prefer it on the NATO to the Omega 1171 bracelet, but the Omega shark mesh is my second favorite.
  6. I agree, the Lambda Nova Signature, SR-Lambda normal bias, and 404LE are my favorite 3 Lambda models for balance and smoothness, without losing any speed or attack, and while avoiding the "etch" many other Lambdas are so famous for. The LNS were similar enough to my 404 LE that I sold the 404 LE, since I was able to get more cash for them at the time. But I would have been happy with keeping either. They all sound well above their pay grade, and easily compete with $1000 planar magnetic headphones, although I do find the bass slightly less controlled than perfect (vs the 007 or 009).
  7. I wish Stax could have perfected their portable stats. My audiocats stage-2 modded SRM-001 Mk2 still sounds so close to being a Baby-007Mk1, in a portable package at a fraction of the cost (it's full of vcaps and auricaps and blackgates, so it uses an external re-chargeabe battery pack). Stage-1 mods started off with upgraded opamps and some minor caps upgrades, and conversion to a pair of 3.7v Lithium batteries in parallel, instead of a pair of 1.5v AA in series. Stock, while a bit rolled off in the treble and bass, was still not bad with a wonderful midrange. My issue is the Stax fit and comfort - I must use the headband as the earpieces wont stay in my ears without it, and the tips make my ear canals itch after a while. If Shure fixed the fit and comfort issue, great, but they should not try to imply that they were the first.
  8. Where is the best place to track your real score?
  9. My score went from 788 on Experian to 832 in January as I paid my credit usage down from 28% to 7%, then we paid off 4 of the 5 cars and a timeshare, reducing installment debt by $53,000 and yesterday our score dropped back to 792 with no negative factors, inquiries, hard hits, or new accounts. I have a copy of my credit report from 2/1 and 2/11 and there's nothing there to explain the 40 point drop in 10 days. It seems that having $90,000 available credit that I'm not using but that's available to spend on our credit cards actually hurts the score. We have one mortgage, one car loan, one student loan, and we only rotate through 3 of many credit cards, and usually pay them off each month. Someone told me that if I use the credit cards instead of using my debit card (for the rewards), and then pay it off each month after we get the statement, that the balance on the statement in the only thing they report, but that the zero balance after the statement is paid off is never reported. He said if we pay off the cards BEFORE they print the monthly statement, then our credit usage on the report would be the correct zero amount.
  10. I guess now is a good time to put money into an IRA when the market is down and you can "buy low".
  11. Good Job! I'm down 24 lbs since August (17 of those have been since October). But the past 4 weeks have been a bitch, losing only 5lbs. I have 10-15 more to lose to meet my 205-210lb goal.

I think Matt is perfect for the job. Now, how do we get rid of Evans and his car sickness?
  13. They're listing it for minimum 30 days rental. [edit - missed your post that beat mine]
  14. I'm pretty sure you can rent boot, poles, skis and helmet. You'll likely have to provide their clothing (jacket, ski pants, gloves, appropriate socks) and eye protection (glasses/goggles).
  15. It's here! The color of the hands can look wildly different depending on lighting, from brown to dark grey to dark blue to light blue. The dial is also sometimes white and sometimes creme colored. I'd bought the brown Omega strap and Omega deployant clasp last year, in the hopes that I'd have a watch to put it on (was going to try it on my Moonwatch). Here's pics wearing the new watch on bracelet and leather strap. I kinda prefer the leather. In the sunlight the watch is simply stunning, and the applied blue metal Omega logo and text really stands out too.
  16. We're having great weather here after the last snow - our yard is still covered in 6" of snow, but it's 53 degrees and I went out to run errands without needing to wear a jacket. But Duke canceled my daughter's classes due to freezing rain.
  17. Why are you selling it? I'm mildly interested for my 145.022 Moonwatch which is on a non-Omega black leather with a genuine Omega deployant clasp. I'm going to move the Omega deployant clasp to a medium-brown Omega leather strap that I have for my Aqua Terra 2503.33 (white dial blue hands), and put the aftermarket clasp back on it. But I'm worried this will look too thick for a 145.022 while perfect for the X-33, or too long for my 7.25" wrists. Plus I don't have a suitable spare buckle laying around.
  18. The VC does look really nice. I have winders for up 13 automatic watches, and one empty spot. Since I don't keep my 1962 De Ville, Seiko, Orient or Egard watches on a winder, I have just enough room for all of my Omega, Tudor, and Rolex automatic watches. With the incoming Aqua Terra, I'll have to always wear one of the automatic watches or let one of them run down if I don't want to manually wind it a few times a week. But, I had planned to stop keeping all my quick set watches on winders soon, including those with ETA based and Omega 2500 movements. With those I can re-set the date very quickly with a single twirl of the crown in the 1st click position. Same with my Hamilton and Seamaster Pro ceramic chronograph where I can change the date quickly with a pusher, or the Tudor with no date. I'd just wear those once a month to keep the oils distributed & from drying out, and then maybe they'll last longer than when running 24/7. So, I'd have simplified things down to using just my Wolf winders with only the watches that use jumping hour hands to change the date, which is a slower process (TI Planet Ocean 8500, Grey Side of the Moon, and my 4 Rolexes with GMT hands). Then I could stop using my cheap Amazon and Egard dual-winders, and free up some shelf space.
