  2. Christmas gift. Ian's book looks more interesting. Might gotta check it out.
  3. Just finished the Saturnine Mix. Now playing: Audrey Ryan- Dishes and Pills
  4. Have a great one Steve! Cheers!
  5. Freddie Hubbard -- Ready for Freddie
  6. I wasn't bunched in the least. I thought there was at least a chance you were kidding as well, which is why I included the "confess whatever the hell you want" line.
  7. We posted at the same time and I had contemplated adding your second point but I figured he can hear for himself whether vinyl into IEM equals bliss.
  8. Typically, the tape out will output whatever input is selected. Otherwise, I don't get your meaning.
  9. Hopefully, your preamp has some form of tape out or line out that is available. Not sure if your preamp is also an integrated amp or if it is separates, but there should be a tape out or line out available. You can also use a Y-splitter if it only has one output and you use that for a separate amp.
  10. Even though your response to Mr. Maher was douchy, my advice would be to get a good portable amp that you can use with your Shures. You can use a portable with your preamp and then take it with you when you are mobile. The HeadAmp AE-2 is a very good option at $349 new and less used. It has RCA inputs on the back and an mini jack on the front. Other portables have RCA inputs but I am not sure which ones. Also, you can simply use a good quality RCA-mini cable and use any of the variety of portable amps. Either way, just DON'T ACT LIKE A DICK on this site and you will get along fine.
  11. It was supposed to be funny but may have failed. I am happy that you are happy, and you should feel free to confess whatever the hell you want.
  12. That is sad news. JP and tyrion saw him awhile back and he really didn't have the stuff anymore. He was only 70, so it's a drag that he wasn't in better health longer. Rest in peace Freddie, you left us some amazing music.
  13. Are you playing it on 4 different rigs simultaneously?
  14. Some are better than others, but I like quite a few of his records. He tends to have a lot of cool guest musicians and especially singers. Aimee Mann, Corin Tucker (Sleater/Kinney), Juliana Hatfield, Jacob Dylan, Dave Alvin, Kathleen Edwars and even Exene. Check out the first one, Meet John Doe, Dim Stars, Bright Sky, Forever Hasn't Happened Yet and the most recent, A Year in the Wilderness and the nicely diverse remixes of The Golden State with different singers.
  15. That's the one. He has about 6 solo albums.
  16. John Doe -- Golden State (remixes) John Doe -- A Year in the Wilderness
  17. I was pretty sure that you had said something criminal in that post that got my blood up at the time. And just so you know I wasn't making any accusation or whatever about the editing, I was just pretty sure it had been there. Mike and you have both dinged me for not handling that by PM and I wish I had. As I told him at the time, if there is a next time I will try that route first.
  18. Death to the heretic! There is no such thing as "content" or "happy" in audio regards!
  19. I used a wad of bubble wrap at a Florida meet to achieve the same thing. Worked pretty well.
