  1. Lee Morgan -- Tom Cat Music Matters 45 RPM vinyl. Man, I just want everybody to come over and listen to this record! Wow is an understatement, from the vinyl, to the sound, to the music, to my system really hitting its stride. I am not meaning to brag at all, I just want anybody that might like this music to hear it this way. If the wife and kids weren't hear, I would be cranking this up like there was no tomorrow. Awesome stuff.

  2. What are the dimensions? They are cool and although there is the uncomfortable orifice reminiscence, they also bring to mind simian or elephantine facial and other physical features, including buttholes. ;D

I think a bunch of those projecting out from a blank wall could be quite stunning. Good luck and make sure you post more pics of the installation.

  3. My SDS-XLR has the same issue with two identical umbilical cords with connectors of the same type on both ends. I have not had any problems connecting them correctly but I sure as hell do think about it every time. I have the proper placement written down and a note in my wallet even so if I am at a meet or something I wont screw it up.

My Doshi preamp has two power supply umbilicals but they are completely different types and they only can be attached in one direction because of male/female or different pin-outs on either end unlike Mikhail's which can be plugged in either way on either cable. It would be easy enough for him to do something to identify them or for the owner to do so, but it should probably be there in the first place. I don't have such a strong reaction to it as some of you do, but it would be the kind of thing expected from a professional, commercial product.

  4. Same, except I've avoided the vinyl for this series, because way back when they said it would be dual format. (and I have no TT)

I've been waiting a while to hear the stuff. :)

I still think they should offer the SACDs to vinyl subscribers for an upcharge but well under the separate price. The package might not be bought by that many people, but it would resolve that dilemma for some.

  5. I sent my apologies to Mike but it was too ridiculous to let that combo of posts sitting there. I am not defending Mikhail but this "last straw" business concerning Tom's amp that we have never seen and don't know if it is completely functional, etc., is made all the more ridiculous by Tom's post tonight that Mikhail and he have spoken and emailed and Mikhail is going to make it all better. Believe when you see it, but the idea that Mikhail intentionally fucked him was stupid in my book and the thought that he is engaged in criminal activity is not only legally wrong but also childish.

I couldn't care less about Mikhail but I do feel bad for the customers as their amps might become worthless (or very worth very little) on the used market. They could be fixed though and converted into something much better but it will require a lot of work and even more money.

Just as soon as you've heard your first SinglePower amp this statement about converting them into something better might have at least a shred of credibility. Why do you insist on making statements about something you don't know about? The supposed list of non-functional SP amps or the schematics simply do not give you a basis to make such judgments in my book.

  6. MANY people hear sound behind them with headphones, and probably most hear it inside the head between the ears, but sometimes that can be helped by using an amp with crossfeed. Other times you can train your brain to move the image up front like I have.

To start I have to tip my head down, chin against my chest with my eyes closed, and turn up my eyeballs to look up inside my closed eyelids to bring the sound up to my forehead which is then in front of me. Then I keep my eyes closed and slowly lift my head and concentrate on keeping the sonic image locked in place while my head moves into a normal position. It takes an IQ of 140 or higher to do it, but you might be able to get it to work anyway  :happy_face1:
