Anybody tried the HE6 with a CFA?

C3M0350120D could be a good alternative.

Btw, what are the transformer covers that you are using? And what are the PCBs on the back and the one mounted on the front panel right next to the phones jack?
The transformer and covers both from from Antek:
https://www.antekinc.com/ca-100-steel-cover/The rear panel has a diyaudio soft start circuit (blue pcb) and also amb audios ε24 power switch driver circuit/small transformer for the momentary switch on the front.
Next to the output on the front is Kevins balanced headphone protector.

Care to share a few listening impressions?
I do need a planar... but HD800S are amazing with the CFA2. Comparative to the mini dynalo it’s more refined, open, bass has better detail and impact. I’ve not heard the HD800S sound this good, not quite as good as the SR-007 with a Carbon, but could be very content with the small compromises.

breakdown voltage is ~1510v (data sheet spec is 1700v min)
but limited by the dy294 1500v between c and e
I'm fairly confident they are genuinefunnily enough the eBay source I bought from is the same listing starcat referenced with the fake images

I thought I was going insane.
Teehee...
I was kind of thinking this was completely out of character for James.Meanwhile I bought some C2M1000170Ds from eBay and kind of resigned them to be fakes...
They’re looking a bit beat up from being jumbled around, but I think the gamble paid off.

John, have you already tried out the G3R450MT17D?
I haven’t.
However I did pass this by Kevin and he said the G3R450MT17D part should work, but he has not used it.
DigiKey still have good stock, I secured a few pcs for myself just in case.

The pin out is NOT the same...
G3R450MT17D is G S D looking from front left to right
C2M1000170D is G D S looking from front left to right.
don't worry the C2M1000170D will be back in stock in a few months... maybe....
I had a another look from the datasheets they are both G D S viewed from front left to right.

banish me to the corner
I think I’m the minority here, maybe I should have some time in the corner.
Just don’t get me started on the dot illuminated variety... 🤮... to add fuel to the fire and to further rant aimlessly, I’ve rarely seen any commercial audio companies using these switches, I just can’t see the likes of Accuphase or Audio Note banging one of these bad boys on the front of their products.
But hey this tots my personal pref, just throwing it out there

I use momentary switches, they have a nice tactile feel, something like this works well:
https://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Schurter/124166311120000?qs=lNltUIKtpkeBG%2Br9r7bWEA%3D%3D
I really dislike the the tarty, latching and overused illuminated switches. So then you can use a a solo LED for the power indicator, I find it helps your amp from not looking like a door bell.
You’ll need a driver switch circuit of some sorts with a relay, but well worth the effort.

They vary in voltage depending on which series, I have used these 651-1730159, it’s has a 400V rating.

I think SPOX are limited to 250V, in saying that they are great connectors from my experience.

50k not 50ohm
The Goldpoint V47 is an incredible attenuator, I prefer way more than DACT or RK50.
