The Multi Amp aka Dynalo Mk2

Same number of output devices (8 per +/- channel, or 16 per L/R channel). Mini uses 16 PZTA06/56 and 6 MMBTA06/56. Full uses 22 MPSW06/56 (thru-hole, not available anymore), or 22 PZTA06/56 (16 output, 6 biasing/VAS) for the SMT version (current). I don't see a schematic for this version (the thru-hole schematic is still on Kevin's site).

Here are the schematics:

I've got to look up the settings again for the positive rail. I'm running out in a bit so may need to do it later.

EDIT:  Ok so the silk screen should read 14.2V before you start bridging the jumpers.  You should bridge 3P2V, 1P6V, 0P8V, 0P2V for a 20V output.

Also, updated schematics to make them higher resolution.

SuperSymmetryDynalo-v1-5.zip

 kgdynalobal9.zip

These are the 2 I am referring to.
These pictures are for the SuperSymmetryDynalo-v1-5.zip version which as far as I know is the mini.

I didn't look into the  (dynalobalXX.zip) at all since they seem a bit older.

I might have to reread the whole blog  and write down some sort of version control for everything.

Yes, that is the mini. The kgdynalobal9 is the full size, but is also SMT for most of it. Use with the GRLV (or Amb sigma22, etc.) PSUs, normally at +/-20V.

The kgdynalobal files seem to use SMT transistors, but thru-hole resistors. These are all full size; I'm not sure which is considered to be the latest. The kgdynalobal9.zip  was what was used for the recent group buy, here.

So biasing/VAS is certainly different between the two. Is this why the mini version needed heatsinks for the output transistors?

No.  The bias/VAS, etc. are the same.  There are some slight value differences in the biasing resistors (accounted for in the BOM), but that's because the LEDs have different forward voltages so the resistors need to be adjusted.

Schematic for the SMT SS Dynalo, not the mini.

So the Schematic is for the mini? And the SMT SS Dynalo board (dynalobalXX.zip) is outdated?

It's good to know that there is a version called SMT but if it's redundant.

Kerrys awesome mini will fit a FPE profile 1 enclosure.
The smallest I could get it: 133.92mm (W) x 172.72mm (D) x 42mm (H)

Smaller than Cavalli’s Liquid Carbon in height and depth, and only slightly wider by 6mm.
Cavalli’s Liquid Carbon = 127mm (W) x 178mm (D) x 45mm (H)

I get my panels next week, I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Here are the drawings.

Will share if anyone’s interested :D.

Well that was very quick shipping from FPE :),

Initially I was going for an all out black box, but FPE don’t do anodising after milling leaving the panels with silver edges, which got me thinking silver sides would help blend in more naturally, so that’s what I did.

I’m really happy with the result overall, the fit is really good, the side edges and base of board have have good clearances. I’m still waiting on feet, final LED and volume knob. I’ll do some testing and see how I go with the temperature, uncased I was getting around ~65° over the regs, THATs and outputs, I may have to turn it down a little, depending...

Here are the FPE files;

The side panels are profile 1 cut to a length of 172.7mm.
