Miller succumbed to Alzheimer's apparently. Absolutely no respecter of your former life, fame and personality. RIP Clive James and Jonathon Miller.

Also this week the chef, author of cookery books and TV chef Gary Rhodes, aged only 59.

It has not been a good week for good guys. RIP all three

I've learned today that Mariss Jansons died the 30th at 76 from cardiovascular disease. He was expected in Madrid to conduct the Bayerische Rundfunk next January :(

RIP Pete Frates, who helped make the ALS "Ice Bucket Challenge" go viral.

ALS is a horrible disease, one of my son's classmates had his dad pass from it as well....

RIP Caroll Edwin Spinney, better known as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. Big Bird is perennially six years old but Carroll made it to 85 after 50 years of playing and voicing two of television's most memorable characters.

Well that was a real shock. Neil Innes - suddenly, and only 11 years older than me. Bloody hell. RIP Neil.
