blessingx
Alison Krauss & Union Station - Paper Airplane [Deluxe Edition] (only at Target's site or stores) http://alisonkrauss.com/news/alison-krauss-union-station-partner-target-deluxe-edition-paper-airplane Wish I'd known about the Deluxe Edition earlier. Thanks for the heads up. May swing by today. Millisecond thought - wouldn't it be cool if this was Alison and company doing M.I.A covers? boomana
My new favorite cd: Accidentally download "Jueves" when I was looking for something else on turntable.fm. I had no idea what I had on my playlist. Turns out to be just beautiful. I suppose bonus if you speak Spanish, but who cares. Love it. It took me about an hour to find a cd copy as vinyl and mp3 seemed to be the only readily available formats. Anyway, excited to get it in about a week. boomana
It is? I wouldn't know. Maybe all the songs are funny and I just think they're pretty.

Torpedo
It's more like "the science about the useless" though it might be interpreted as "the science by the useless". Pretty fun anyway.
boomana
well, the songs are named after the days of the week, and have a nice lazy feel to them.
Dusty Chalk
Do you know anything about Omar? He's awesome. There was a period where it seemed like he was putting out a different project every week, or at least month. And every single one was different. Also, Mars Volta. Torpedo
Checking it out at their Bandcamp page. They're supposed to be selling the FLAC version too, but Bandcamp is well known for delivering lossy files for lossless ones. Lunes isn't a fun tune so far. boomana
I know nothing about Omar. My bumping into "Jueves" came from me trying to download the NoMeansNo song "Big Dick," and I clicked on the wrong thing. Go figure. These songs don't sound particularly fun, but I love the singer's voice and the feel of them.
Torpedo
Listened to the whole thing. More of a melancholic and philosophical work than fun. Jueves is kind of progressive, where you notice the guy is a part of Mars Volta. It seems an album made for or by his girlfriend, who happens to be the singer Not bad at all, though not really my style.

boomana
I tend to be attracted to melancholic music. For some reason, if it's good, it almost always makes me very happy. Probably why I like this even though I have zero idea what they're singing about, though that may help.
Torpedo
I understand you very well. I've spent a good part of my life not understanding what they were singing. Most tunes were way more interesting when wrapped in ignorance.
