I got mine on Ebay and they were authentic Cree's 170D. Nothing blew up in smoke and sounds great

Can you post the sellers name? Thx.

Nice work!
Could you post or link the source file for the 3D printer. Thx.

Stuffing some Carbon boards over here while waiting for parts...

Optimising the physical layout in the chassis.

I was wondering why is that 10M90S on the positive GRHV board mounted on that Aavid heatsink and not directly to the side heatsink as the others, any particular reason? It always gets in the way.

I think that 10M90S is for the bias voltage. I assume it doesn't get that hot, but don't know the actual reason for the on board heatsink instead of sinking it to the main heatsink/bracket. It does look like there is sufficient board real estate available to have done that instead.

EDIT: Kevin beat me to it while typing; go with his explanation.

that is the bias supply current source and is at at least 700v. best for highest isolation.

Thanks, Kevin! So, it should not be moved off that Avid heatsink?

I thought about mounting it downward facing and sticking it to the main amp's heatsink, same as the other sands (I would not be using brackets but mounting them directly on the heatsinks on the amp sides).

Finally done!

I regrettably sold my previous KGSSHV Carbon a while ago, this one’s not going anywhere soon.

This is a 400V, 19mA version, using the ground plane amp board, Sumr transformer and Goldpoint V47 attenuator. I bought the heatsinks from China and had all the drilling and panels done at Front Panel Express. I pulled out the Canon 5D from the cupboard for some tasty shots.

I was lucky enough to grab your old Carbon 😊

I could see subtle changes from your old Carbon - volume pot, one output instead of two, ventilation holes at the back, directional changes to the XLR input/outputs am sure it would be sounding A M A Z I N G 👍

Hello all!

After succesfull build GG moved to Carbon (board version 0.6). Soldered all components. Tested Right channel - all good.

But with Left chanel some problem: with [balance] test all ok, [Current Adjust] seems also good. But problem with [offset]. It has voltage 405V (with +P left channel, same as -P). When trimmed [offset] it has diviasion +-10V. But it is not enougth for set 0V. All resistors with their nominals, seems no short circute, LEDs glows.

Where could be problem?
