Runs it with Russian gold grid 6N1P tubes. Edited November 24, 2019 by mdr30

jpelg
Anyone hear this tri-amped Linkwitz system at Axponia this year?
Craig Sawyers
I have the LX521, which was the pinnacle of Siegrfried Linkwitz's (RIP) loudspeaker design prowess. However, someone I know has the LX-mini (shown above, with the optional subwoofer, designated the LX-mini +2), and we did a shootout between the my LX521 and his LX-mini (without sub). The result was remarkably close in terms of ability to give a wholly believable phantom image. The only difference was bass extension, and the various LX-mini versions (with either closed box or open baffle subs) sort that problem out. I have felt no need to upgrade the speakers for the five years I have been listening to them.

Craig Sawyers
That is a superb rack. Looks like he (I'm assuming he) is either a real craftsman, or he knows one. Awesome deck too!
Knuckledragger
Quote Taken some time, money, and patience but this is the best stack I’ve ever had in my house. From top: Rogue Cronus Magnum II Belles Aria Audiolab 6000CDT Schiit Gungnir MB LFD MK IV SE (hard to see) Sonore ultraRendu I’ve always been a tube guy and for me the Rogue is tops in my system with NOS 12AU7 tubes. Specifically for me RCA Cleartops. Second would be the LFD. Closest solid state I’ve heard to getting close to tube sound. Third but nowhere near least is the Belles Aria. Was quite impressed with the Belles. I’d say it’s 90% of the LFD with way more functionality. Adds remote, phono, and a bypass so it can be used as a pre/amp.

Knuckledragger
Apparently I'm a one note McTrumpet* in this thread. *Funny how "Mc" means "shitty" as in "McDonalds" until one is implying blue meters and a green logo.
