When I heard these were being released I just had to get a set to see if they matched the supreme crap that the original was.  Now after some delays I picked the set up from the postoffice.

The srm-001 is an opamp driving a fet that drives a transistor (cascode) into a load resistor and is cap coupled to the output. (cascode differential) The jade2 is an opamp driving a transistor t

I also don't think Fang really understands what is going to happen now.  I'm going to track down a Shangri-la jr. amp no matter the cost just to rip it apart.

I just put together the amp and Fang should really fire everybody in the "Hifiman Boston design team" for coming up with this shit.  So there is really no good way of assembling this as you can't just put on the front or the back first and connect the internal wires.  Nope, they have to hang off at the same time while trying to connect the fiddly connectors.  Fucking hell...

It will be fun for them to service this shit...

I'm actually surprised you didn't rip these apart even harder. The system was unbearably bad to me, I just don't understand how the hell they ever released this. It was the epitome of bin tier estat for me. I don't think i've personally heard a shittier stat than the Jade II for my taste. Not the Voce, ESP950 ; nothing offended me like this steaming pile of shit that Hifiman calls a headphone.

As it turns out...some people are not happy with the Jade....

I'm not sure how this could have happened.  Last person on the planet here to defend Hifiman as they produce nothing but garbage...but the headphones are just made from plastic and PCB material.  On the inside of the cups, there is a built in mesh into the pads, then we have a grill made from FR4 and doesn't look to have any traces on it.  Now it is black so often tricky to see but yeah... doesn't make any sense to put a track on that part.  Next up with a have a gap, then the dust cover, then the strengthening rib for the inner stator and finally something electrically conductive, the stator.  Now all of this does flex so you could theoretically push your way to the stator but you are still nowhere near the bias.

Now the amp is not fundamentally unsafe like the Woo Audio garbage but also not what I'd call safe.  The earthing is suspect at best and the amp lacks the right value safety resistors but at least there are some in there.  The audio output is AC coupled to the stators so no high voltage DC could be present there.  The 1k output resistors would also seriously limit the current if something were to happen...

Hi, I am new here, live in Australia, past owner of Audeze Lcd2.2 and am now going electrostatic having always wanted to.

After enquiring with my friendly supply outlet about Stax SR-L700,s and SRM006ts  was informed that a much better  idea that would convince me to go HIFIMAN  Jade 2 and amp as it was in all ways superior sound, upon reading your review I responded to my ever friendly supplier that your article pointed out serious issues with build quality.

His answer was interesting , he said that the build quality was simplistic but was not relevant to its astounding performance.

This coming from a well respected audio supplier specialising in head gear

This coming from a well respected audio supplier trying to sell me something.

More likely this.

Ok that shit just made my day.  In terms of build quality, sound quality etc. there is no comparison between those two.  The Jade is just garbage by comparison.

Gotta love people "helping" though...

Makes me wonder as to his profit margin,, Chinese products tend to die at end of warranty.

Am going to purchase Cyrus Cdi as a disc player to accompany tbe h/phones

Quoted your article to him as fully understood your perspective and he dismissed it totally, am wary now of this very well.respected dealer

I would be very skeptical of anything he says as replies like that just ping every BS meter there is.  It's an age old audiophool trend to look past crap build quality and every other indicator because "the sound is so good" but it rarely holds any water.  The bottom like is for me, the L700's will probably be playing just fine in 30 years but can we say the same about the Jade?

Many years ago when I was first getting into the headphone audio hobby I was told by a headphone amp manufacturer "who are you going to believe, me or your lying ears"?

I have been an addict of Headphones for 55 yrs, am 72 this year and wanted Stax since time began.
