If that has a 10mhz pure sine wave output, then other than power supply and other monitor stuff associated with it, that is all you need.

the complete unit actually has the same part in it that is sold on ebay as a module plus the power supply, and likely an output buffer.

But the name of the game is 10.00000000mhz  (or better accuracy) with a jitter of less than 100 femtoseconds.

which my beast actually beats on both frequency and jitter by a fair amount. (one month accuracy verified against a primary caesium beam clock, less than 1 x 10-12 seconds)

personally I think this is overkill to the extreme.  The only reason I did it was I was given the thing for free, and was challenged to make a 40+ year old monster work to original factory specifications. And i'm supposed to be emptying out the house, not dragging home nonsense like this.

But it really is a patek phillipe movement, 19 jewels. A thing of beauty.

And a rubidium lightbulb, a magnetic microwave chamber, a rubidium phase splitter etc...  Old school

i was saving up some money to buy a new dynamic headphone amp, as i've been without one after my old head-direct hf5 died on me, but then this beauty showed up, and all my plans were thrown out the window.

guess i'll have to survive using my floats off my stereo amp a few more years.

i didn't want to go all the way to the attic and look for my ortho-collection anyway. ;)

nice GS!

Thanks!

There is something special about a GS that you can't really understand until you've handled one.

I was pretty pleased with my old Sinn 103 st, even after trying out several blancpains, omegas, rolexes and panerias at different watch GTGs, but this GS is just in a different league from everything else i have ever handled.

The overall finish and sense of quality is just unbelievably high!

At first i was kind of worried about walking around with something so valuable, but it's been stuck to my wrist since i've bought it, and its not coming off any time soon.

the poor sinn has been laying in the drawer for weeks now...

Is that a Heuerville strap on the Sinn?

yep, a Tobacco nunbuck.

Haven't used it much yet, but it seems to be high quality.

The problem with rally straps is they tend to stretch out to fast due to all the holes, but this one is slightly thicker then the ones i have tried before, so hopefully it will be slightly more durable.

Nothing lowly about anything they make, which is one of the things that appeals to me. They do simple right and complicated right.

Also, Steve, they hand-finish all their (balance) cocks.

;)

As do I sir...as do I.

I've been wearing my Explorer II (216570) for casual/weekend stuff for the past 2 or so years, basically wearing it as a true sport watch. I've come to the conclusion that it's simply too big for my wrists. Maybe if the case was slimmer or the the lugs hugged my wrist more, but it just doesn't. I've toyed with selling it for awhile, even posted it once about a year ago. I love the look and style, but it just doesn't work. I need to stick with 40mm and under, except for very specific case types.

If anyone is interested in a Polar 216570 let me know. It's in good used condition with a few scuffs on the bracelet here and there.

I can forward images if desired.

Here is a wrist shot.
