Nenso
Look at China's olympic brochure (picture on the left or top).. .. The most popular anime in japan recently.. is Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (pictured here on the right or bot) It's such a huge icon that anyone who slightly knows about anime (no I'm not talking about Americanized anime, the real type) should recognize it. Recognize anything? LOL.. China and Japan has a long history of hostility towards each other.. (don't quote me on this, many ppl have said it) and I find it hilarious that they're borrowing Haruhi as an icon for the olympics.. Its such an obvious ripoff.. and this random Japanese guy even commented "中国にもセーラー服が存在する??" which roughly translates into (my japanese is bad) Sailor uniforms exist in China too? o_O omg.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-China or anything.. I have nothing against it.. I just find something like this hilarious http://www.enjoykorea.jp/tbbs/read.php?board_id=panimation&nid=66456 brochure from here
saint.panda
If China can borrow Disneyland, why not also Haruhi? Except in this case, I don't think most people would know. And you wouldn't want to point out to your seat neighbour "Hey, this is a rip-off from Haruhi?", "What's Haruhi?", "It's a re-socialization programme used in Indonesian prisons"[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xx4tszZ-DE]video[/ame].
