Love the space shuttle shot! Y'all be crazy, though, 7000 shots! I don't think I take that many in a year.

It's mainly my wife and daughter that go crazy with the photos. I took quite a few, but I'm still learning how to use this camera, so there are quite a few bad photos.

And lots of pix of the same thing.

So Best Buy has some seemingly good deals on some Canon gear right now.

Canon EOS Rebel DSLR Cameras: 5D Mark II 21.1MP $2124, T2i EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS $672, T3i 18MP w/ EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS $756, 7D 18MP w/ 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS $1595 + Free Shipping

I checked BH Photo, and it's showing "Out Of Stock" and says no availability from the the manufacturer. This mean the Mk3 should be dropping soon, or is there just some promotion going on/low supply due to natural disasters?

Just low supply is my guess. Most of Canon's more high-end items have gone out out of stock quickly whenever dealers get them back in stock. IIRC, B&H just received some shipments of 5d2 (and other Canon items) sometime last week, meaning they all were bought in less than a week.

As for 5d3, I doubt we will see anything until next year, due to the disaster.

ASR - nice shots, show us more. I am away atm, otherwise would arrange to meet you in Sarasota or near by.

Would've been cool to see you Gene but my trip itinerary was hectic for the 5 days I was in FL. Could definitely make it out to the next TamJam though. ;)

Pics below from the 1st day of the trip. In-camera JPGs (I shot in RAW+JPG) - couldn't be bothered to work from the RAWs yet, too many pics. 2nd pic is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge as it approaches Bradenton. All pics were taken in the vicinity of one of the fishing piers off the bridge.

In late 2009, my 30D and EF 35mm got knocked off a table by some idiot and the impact broke the AF motor. This has for the most part limited me to a 17-40mm (F/4) and two 50mms (F/1.8 and F/1.4) Recently I've been taking my 35mm out and using it as a manual focus lens. Saturday before last, I did lights for the afterparty for the Northampton Pride parade (or as I call it, Shedding Light on the Homosexual Agenda.)

50mm F/1.8, 1/30th, ISO800.

The same week, I also saw the Shpongletron show:

Two unrelated diffraction grating laser shots:

I'd been using the sling strap from OP/TECH and it had been working well for me. Well, at least until I took off the grip from my Canon body since the extra weight was getting bit too much for my left hand/wrist (tendonitis). Without the grip and second point of attachment, the camera hang from the sling strap at an odd angle, constantly bumping off the side of my body (even moving the mode dial on one occasion). So now, I've got a strap that I can't really use unless I put the grip back on (won't be happening). I guess I'll be splurging for a BlackRapid in the near future.

Panorama from our hotel room at Niagara Falls this past weekend (hence the window reflections visible)

Stitched together using Microsoft Live Photo Gallery which did an absolutely outstanding job compared to Photoshop CS2 Photomerge
