acs236 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Share Posted June 6, 2006 i always thought they sounded grainy. acs236 and i compared the 120 ohm and the 50 ohm versions at the headroom meet and we came to the conclusion that one was better than the other, but i can't remember which! The 595/ 120 ohm sounds like a much improved grado HF-1 to me. Tubes definitely up the headphones performance but the 595 still sounds very good on my GS-1.
