riceboy
Thanks for the article Al.
Hopstretch
I think the correspondent should enter the byline hall of fame.
ingwe
[url=http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hREPMeeR5GfDTBELMODMLmXmjLWgD95N472G0] In an interview Wednesday, McDaniels called their induction "inconceivable." That word... I don't think it means what you think it means.
aardvark baguette
no disrespect to run-dmc, but they dont belong. At least from the material I've heard, long ago. At best they accompanied Aerosmith on one song. Hardly Hall of Fame material. If there were a rapper hall of fame, you may as well put Dylan or Cash there. Equally meaningless. grawk
It's a hall of fame. Of course it's meaningless.
Voltron
I totally disagree on Run DMC. They belong. The hall of fame is a goofy enough thing for sports but it is really goofy for musicians. Still, Run DMC should be there.
grawk
I think Run DMC resurrecting aerosmith's career is reason enough, not to mention the influence they've had on modern rock acts. But mostly, the R&R hall of fame is just a hard rock cafe w/o burgers.
GPH
I browsed the inductee list just for fun and didn't see any mention of Genesis or Peter Gabriel. Big time fail (pun intended).
atothex
Run-DMC are the greatest rap group ever. They probably deserve to be in some sort of HOF; my main problem is that this particular one is horribly named. Music HOF would be better, I guess, but music awards or criticism in general are silly to me.
Dusty Chalk
I follow a lot of music-related pop culture, and I even I don't care about the rock 'n' roll hall of fame.
Pars
Interesting interview in Chicago Trib with Lars (Metallica). His comments/perception of the compression/loudness issue is priceless. Metallica's 'Death Magnetic' too loud? Too bad! -- chicagotribune.com
