jinp6301
If someone missed the apple refurb deal, ebay is doing the same thing eBay Daily Deal: Great items, deep discounts, and free shipping
thrice
Wow, ordered the refurb silver Shuffle for $39 on Wednesday, used the free shipping option and it arrived today! I'll get it loaded up and it'll be ready for my ski trip this weekend. Kick ass! Got my refurb today as well.

thrice
Holy Cats! There is a DRM chip inside the iPod Shuffle earbuds! Not entirely unexpected.
Dusty Chalk
I hope this is a major failure for them.
grawk
Given the way the new shuffle remote works, it could just be a way to make it so the remote has the smarts, and have it so remotes can be more flexible...

Apparently it is an authentication chip. As much of an Apple fanboy as I am, if they really are going to try and make 3rd-party phone manufacturers pay to play, then that is just not froody. Hopstretch
Third party phones and adapters already in the works Hmm, allowing simple adapters would certainly puncture the giant-conspiracy theory somewhat. Thank goodness, the cognitive dissonance was killing me.

Hopstretch
Klipsch stepping up, albeit with "enhanced bass".
Sherwood
I'd say it more than offsets that by thoughtfully providing "smooth sound".
