... I should have a new Stello DA100 :D

The DA100 appears to essentially be the single-ended section of the new DA220MKII

Dear Zach Collier,

Thank you for purchasing DA100. <--- Little do they know my money is worthless to them in South Korea ;)

As you may heard from the previous users, these equipment is not just a small boxes for the general audiophile

but the real hi-end product for the pure music reproduction. <--- What is a general audiophile and why is he not concerned with pure music reproduction?

You will see when you receive DA100. <---- Cool, I was just thinking how nice it would be to not have to wear contacts anymore... the DA100 will apparently help with that.

Your DA100 are now under burn-in stage and will be shipping before this Friday. <---- My DA100 are eh? They are sending me more then one?!?! :)

All the tracking information will be mailed to you as soon as the product leave the factory. <---- Why are they mailing the tracking info? It will take just as long to get here!

Thank you again and we will update you very soon. <--- Good, I am about due for an update anyway!

Best regards,

hifi500 team

I wonder what kind of sonic improvements placing a DAC under a burning stage brings about?

You will see when you receive DA100. <---- Cool, I was just thinking how nice it would be to not have to wear contacts anymore... the DA100 will apparently help with that. --> It will be flying very fast towards your head, so you will definitely see it coming. It will resemble a very rapidly growing cardboard box. You should probably duck.

Thank you again and we will update you very soon. <--- Good, I am about due for an update anyway! --> GEv2.0!!! Do you get a bigger penis? Does your girlfriend turn into Jennifer Biel or Koo Stark? Or perhaps you just learn how to dance or pilot a helicopter. "Whoa, I know kung fu."

enjoy it, i've been curious about that one... love the usb feature.

my minidac is doing me well, but if anything else i'd consider one of those for 700... what a deal.

now just try to hold on to it for more then a few weeks, that will be impressive .

Hmmm....another prospect! So have you been able to confirm that it is, indeed, the single-ended section of the MKII??

So, what sort of customs/duties/taxes are you looking at when that baby arrives? Another dac to choose from! At this rate, I'll never make up what little mind I have!

At least from the internal pictures I've seen, it looks quite a bit like a single-ended version of the 220, as far as the output stage and chips used go. However from what I recall, it didn't have seperate transformers for analog and digital, and the transformer is of a different type than the 220's.

Knew it wouldn't be that easy. More research required I suppose! OTOH, I can't wait for GE's impressions as far as the new dac compares to the others(lavry) he's heard. Hurry it up GE!

The only info I have been able to get out of April Music as to the changes from the MKI to the MKII is they slightly upgraded the psu and filtering. ie perhaps the change from generic transformer to custom toroidals ;)

Ken, as for duties, there should not be any. I have yet to ever have to pay duties for items brought into the country.

Well, I checked with hirezaudiovideo.com and they will have the "stack" in a couple of weeks so I won't need to sweat the customs end. Curious about warranty and repairs and who I'd need to return the item to? Wonder if it's hirez or it goes straight back to the manufacturer in Korea?

I've been on the fence about the MKII and Lavry plus this little stack and the BelCanto DAC3 but can't seem to make up my mind. The temptation to go balanced has been with me for some time so I'm pretty sure I'd end up taking the plunge if I spent the dough and got the MKII.

GE, be sure to post some impressions when you're ready. Very interested in hearing about this dac.
