There are some other options also as reviewed HERE and other sites.I like the active models as they allow better hearing of ambient sound. Peltior are also good but tend to be a bit pricier. Yeah active customs would be ideal. I might be missing someone that offers them?
morphsci
These guys have them and some are even HC level priced. Never tried any of these or ordered from them so can’t give any recommendation from personal experience.

I was certain that "cheek weld" was a gay bottom, not in the mood.
luvdunhill
I ended up ordering a pair of Westone DX3 - still waiting for them to be made! https://www.westone.com/downloads/defendear/P192_DEDX_3_SpecSheet.pdf
Augsburger
Did you DIY the ear molds or did you visit a audiologist? Edited January 28 by Augsburger

I went to an audiologist what works with Westone - I made sure they would allow a second refit if needed. I am debating whether or not I would just get single vision lens at the far distance and how dumb it would look if they can’t do ultra high index lens sveltely. I probably need to find a place where I can try them on first, but that’s about a 3hr drive away. I don’t think I will go back to contacts anytime soon…
luvdunhill
Well, the left fit is amazing - the right one I need to decide if I do a refit (which is free from both my audiologist and westone). I am going to my best to test them out on Sunday at the range. Edited March 7 by luvdunhill

luvdunhill
Was tired of this not fitting in the molded factory Beretta case, so bought a Nigrini. I feel like a I need a few more cases now…
luvdunhill
Really loving the DefendEars - sent off the right for a refit but active protection is the way to go. The only drawback is I tend to speak softer (because my own voice is amplified) and when around a bunch of people with passive hearing protection you have to speak up. The noise suppression on the clay mode is greater than sitting in the car without any ear protection about 80 yards away from a trap field. I haven’t messed around with the other modes. After dealing with some warrantee work with Beretta off and on for a few months, I am going to list a nice entry level A300 Ultima with Kick-Off in 12 ga. Its a gas powered gun that is a joy to shoot. It’s gotten a new trigger group and work done on the receiver that was hanging up the odd shell from ejecting. Let me know if that’s of interest to anyone here, otherwise I will list it online. 2
