Having the rights to release records is not the same as having the rights to releasing needledrops.

Isn't the rights issue one of the reasons that lead to the failure of DVD-A,

given that they had to obtain separate rights for each of the 2.0, 2.1, 5.1 mixes and different bit rates/depths?

Moving on.

With the mainstream demise of the CD player, how long before a CD revival,

where enthusiasts seek out of print discs, hunt down out of production players, engage in obscure rituals before listening, and enthuse about the superiority of their chosen medium :)
