Moving on to a little Hanky Panky

1 1/2 oz Bluecoat Gin

1 1/2 oz Carpano Antinco Sweet Vermouth

2 dashes Fernet Branca

Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist a paper thin swathe of orange over the drink and drop in.

Wow, this is remarkably good.

back home...drinkin' Boulevard Smokestack Series Imperial Stout...mine's #4886, though:)...

this is like a sweet, Whiskey-fied Baltic...i think i'll snag 'nother one for aging...

oh, & it should be noted that that is an old label...the beer is now 11% ABV...it's 54% ale & 46% ale aged in Whiskey barrels...& i don't know how many bottles are out there...this is the 2011...

Looks nice Jim. A bit of Ramazotti might work in lieu of the Fernet.

Next, and last is:

Oriental Cocktail (Savoy)

1/2 Rye Whisky.

1/4 Italian Vermouth.

1/4 White Curacao.

The Juice of 1/2 Lime.

Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.

Put to good use the new 0.75 oz jigger that arrived today :)

Also, one for the experts. What is the best sub for Dubonnet. Dolin Rouge, Carpano, or Punt e Mes?

So there is a use for Fernet Branca besides a "shot." :)

Earlier today I had my first Jester King brew(s). I really liked the Black Metal (Imperial Stout).... lots of smokey and chocolately goodness! Probably my second favorite Texas beer after St. Arnold Divine Reserve #10.
