And now what did you do TODAY?

Cool!!! I have no idea what they've been removing, but looks good :) If you're allergic to Salsalate is quite possible you're to Aspirin and many other related drugs, including Indometacin and other NSAID. However getting yourself checked with allergic tests would be great, so you'd know for sure. There are many circumstances in life that knowing what NSAID you can use is very important, for the other only alternative is taking steroids, which is not always that desirable.

I'm glad you're doing well. Take care of yourself :D

Good idea. Guess that would have been useful to know now. :) I am guessing that there is no reason to believe I should be allergic to Percocet (since it doesn't contain an NSAID as far as I know). Just paranoid. I take ibuprofen, naproxen, tylenol as needed every once in a while with no problems (of course, I guess large doses can be different than just taking a few).

If you can take ibuprofen and naproxen which are NSAIDs without issues, there's a lot of hope you can take many of them. Tylenol is a different type of substance, and mostly analgesic but not anti-inflammatory. Pretty safe for most people.

I think it's important being tested when any pharmacologic allergy happens, specially if antibiotics and NSAIDs are involved. The allergic reaction usually is more severe if you use a large dose, but when real allergy (and no just intolerance) appears, even the slightest dose will elicit a response. If you're in doubt you may allergic to some medicin try another alternative, and if there's no other one, then try a small dose like 1/4 of a tablet or less. Sometimes just licking a tablet or putting a few grains from a pill on your lip will suffice to see if you're allergic.

Yeah, I'm with others wishing you a fast recovery!

Meanwhile in Reykjavik- I'm making a Latvian dinner for my flatmates to celebrate the day of Latvian Independence. Potato pancakes with onions and mushrooms! And a glass of Cuba Libre to keep the spirit merry in these dark times.

Went to my first physical therapy appointment yesterday. Did the home exercises today (16 exercises some twice/day)... damn they take a long time. Don't know how I am going to do this and go back to work next week (which I hope to do). Also, I am supposed to get 6 hours a day in the constant passive motion machine, guess I'll have to do this while sleeping. I am still having little to no pain so I didn't take any percocet today (I took a 1/2 a pill yesterday before the PT appointment but I don't think it was necessary). The only thing is that I now have a bit of pain in my good leg (probably from hopping around too much), my wrists (from the crutches), and my back/neck (from sleeping on my back). So I took 1 ibuprofren for those pains. Doing lots of icing all over.

Had a nice dinner last night with some friends, the husband being a Sony exec and as always he gives us a few tidbits about new Sony films in the pipeline. One in particular is titled Arthur Clause and I instantly thought of Wayne, loosely based on the HC Clause but ya never know.

Shelly, the passive motion machine and iceing made a huge difference in my recovery from ACL surgery. Ten days on crutches and only two weeks off from the bike, and no drugs. Good luck on your recovery. I recommend if you start to have more pain, buy more new gear. laugh.png Worked for me.

Got in to a pissing match with my stupid homeowner's association. We're not even fully incorporated and people are already choosing sides. The lazy goodfornothing microsoft employee is siding with the "queen of the neighborhood", but that's because she mows his lawn when he travels. Asslicker. The queen is not even on the board, yet she tasks herself with getting bids on landscaping. W. T. F. I think I'll get drunk, paint my house camouflage and piss from the roof while screaming obscenities.

That's interesting. I'd love to hear more about it.

There is a movie that has been in the pipeline for a long time now that really needs to see the light of day, but just can't seem to gather the necessary financial support, since it's not your typical "exciting" Hollywood movie. It's called Nicholas of Myra (the story of St. Nicholas) http://www.nicholasofmyra-movie.com/

Shelly, good news. Hope your recovery continues unabated.

My wife and I went to a fun even at our temple last night, kind of a Casino-oriented fundraiser. Even though I don't gamble, I caught up with some friends, and had some samples of nice desserts, wines, and got to join in on a nice scotch comparison. On the line to taste:

Glennkinchie 12 years old

Dalwhinnie 15

Oban 14 (never tried this before, quite "bold" in aroma and taste)

Cragganmore 12

Talisker 10

Lagavulin 16 (my favorite of the night)

Also got to catch up with a friend I knew from college,. haven't really spent time chatting for about 25 years!
