I'm with Filburt (Hi Filburt!!!) on the D-335 recommendation. I refuse to spend the insane prices the top-of-the-line vintage players are commanding, so I buy the mid-level ones that usually go for ~$100. The D-335 mated w/a maxxed-out Portaphile V2^2 via a hi-end IC is my "reference" transportable rig. It's a great listening session every time I sit down w/it. I think you'll be very surprised at these old players' capabilities. Plus, Filburt really knows what he's talkin' 'bout! PS - Hello to all my fellow Head-Fiers!
