New Western Digital drive that mirrors your data

There seems to be an overwhelming amount of discontent with the MyBook series on the egg and elsewhere. Though it may be from the overwhelming market share WD has, IDK. Just FYI.

Thanks Chris. Yes I've seen that a bunch too. I have 2 of those 500 GB ones and they have been fine so far. Also I have two of the 2.5" portable WD drives and so far those are fine as well (cross my fingers).

I also have two MyBooks that have been working great for more than a year. The Raid system looks enticing but I think I'll still save up for a 1 TB time capsule.

i have a few mybooks. one of the enclosures quit working (and my god what a pain in the ass to get the drive out), but none of the drives themselves have died. i get them because they are cheap, but i don periodic backups.

Yup. Same here Reks. I get them because they are cheap storage. I use them to backup stuff to mostly or store stuff on them that I don't mind losing.
