December 23, 200619 yr comment_22817 I've recently harvested a 40GB HD from an old Ultimate TV device and would like to use it with my pc. Problem is that it's locked. I'd seen some threads about using mhd3.exe to unlock and erase it which would then allow me to reformat and reuse it. Unfortunately, I'm having no success unlocking it. Does anyone here have an idea? Not trying to hack the drive so preserving the data isn't an issue. I'm really looking to just wipe it clean and start fresh. Suggestions appreciated. Report

December 23, 200619 yr Author comment_22830 I've got one more possibility. I've found that I can reflash with the TIVO software which will leave the drive unlocked. If that doesn't succeed, I guess that's it. Report
