Why there has to be this shouting match between us nate I don't get.
If anyone is a hypocrite it is you. You are polite, respectful, hell even helpful when posting to my threads in the other world. If you friends were allowed to read what you say there vs here maybe you wouldn't be in the "cool" club!

You don't honeslty belive that I hyped the product for a year and you know it! The only person you are trying to convince is yourself.

I will not joust back and forth on what I know to be true but I thank you for you comments as you are more knowledgeable about many things related to the hobby than I.
I wish I could keep everything I simply can't afford to and have greater responsibilities in my life than my gear. There we're days when I could be selfish but no more!

I did not gush about the v-dock to sell it! I buy enough stuff from ken that if I didn't like it I could have easily returned it. Yes I hated it so much that I had vinnie build me a custom power supply for it so it ran as quite ac powered as it did from the battery. You guys dream up all these crazy conclusions for your own entertainment.
I wish I had not sold the v-dock as the price went from 550 to 750??
I had planned to re-purchase one down the road. The reason it was sold is I wanted to try something else and simply could not fund it any other way. It was the v-dock or the dog and 7 year old whippets don't get much return on your dollar.
Believe what you want you will anyway.
I do not hype stuff to sell it! I am excited about it and share. That's what's fun about this hobby for me.

Trose is an asshat. He thinks his "special" hr2 which just adds a gain switch warrants such a price. He likes everything personalized and special, then when he sells them, he prices them the highest, believing everyone idolizes him and would pay extra for something he owned and something specially made for HIM.

Sure my hands aren't clean of hyperbole myself, but that guy takes it 5 notches up on bullshit products and will keep it at that level here where NO ONE on head-case will buy into it unlike innocent newbs on head-fi and it can only degrade from there. I opened and worked at some of the biggest clubs in my area, CT, MA, NY. They would bring me in to get the place hyped (3 turntable mixing, video mixing etc) build a mad craze for the club and hire and train the DJ staff. Then I would move on and be hired by the next big Club. SInce 1984. In addition I have worked in Radio and done much prof voice over work.
Have I done Weddings sure all DJ's start that way!
At least get your story straight instead of just pulling one line from my profile!

Here's what happens. Someone -- for example, you, for another example asshat extraordinaire, for a third example me -- comes in and posts something. Those posts can be divided up -- overgeneralizing, but still applies -- into the kind of posts that get attention, and the kind that do not. Those that get attention can be divided up into the kind that gets good attention, and the kind that does not.
So someone came in and made a post that got attention, and you're what? Surprised that it got attention?
Okay, so here's what else happens: everyone who reads this, takes it as an opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with said attention whore. Now, imagine having a one-on-one conversation with 372 people (or whatever). It sure seems like a conspiracy, but actually it's just overwhelming.
You should know this, you've gone through it yourself. And it's not just head-case, it's all of the fucking internet. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the internet. It's very simple. All of us who have not been dropped on our heads as a child have figured it out years ago, some of us who are learning hindered keep making the same mistakes repeatedly. Left as an exercise to the reader which is which.

Honestly I suspect an iMod sounds pretty decent. I think Vinnie knows what he's doing. That said, I'd personally be more inclined to put that money into good CD player instead.
