  1. if your speakers are producing a magnetic field strong enough to screw up your LCD, well, lets just say that you have bigger problems to worry about than visual distortion, like the local space/time anomaly that just killed you and everyone in your city.

I thought so, but better to ask and be safe than sorry. Despite my audio hobby, the TV is still the single most expensive electronic device that I own.

  2. You're not going to have your LCD close enough to any of these bad boys to worry about the magnets affecting your screen. Can't really picture it.

My closet sized studio = fail. :palm:

    I'll figure something out, though.

Just to be sure: what's a safe distance?

  3. The Forte's will have more bass, but need to be close to the back wall due to the rear passive radiator if you want maximum bass performance.

The heresy's need 3 level reinforcement, ground and corner walls, if you want decent bass performance. Of course this is coming from someone with cornwalls so maybe I am not the best person to ask:p

Newb question: will these old speakers fuck up my LCD if I put them close? If so, what can I do?

  4. I have seen this amp and I think I even heard it with K1000s but in any event it is not a big risk at $175. As a nice tubed FM receiver it is worth that, and you could easily run Klipsch Heresy speakers or other efficient vintage or new speakers off of it.

Yeah, as soon as I saw it, I started looking for Klipsch's on Craig's List. Are Forte significantly better than Heresy? From what I understand, there's Heresy I, II, and III and Forte I and II. Any significant differences other than vintage? The reason I ask is there was a pair of Forte II for $450, which looked like a decent deal.

  5. Well, I bought the Fart Can. We'll see for shared work duties. 250 ohm Con version, so should be a little less gassy, no? Hope the Pico isn't a limitation. :o

I did the exact same thing. I mean, for $110, might as well take a flier on them, right?

  6. I mean obviously you've got different size people, and say some small dude really wanted the money... Bad things.

Well, I'm the smallest dude there, so... :P

Anyways, I was just kidding about the health risk thing. I have a decent idea of what I'm getting into. The competition is by percentage, not mass. That helps somewhat.

If I manage to do well, y'all can get in on my diet/exercise secrets. Funny that I already have a bodybuilding.com space, but I'm posting info here.

  7. Hey guys, first post here, and it's not related to anything musical. =) I'm 5'8", 145lb, body fat % in the low teens.

My office is doing a weight loss challenge (w/ money involved) to see who can lose the highest percentage of their original weight. I'm worried that staying competitive may force me to be unnaturally skinny. Should I even try to compete?
