October 25, 201213 yr Just been auditioning the Asus Xonar Essence One, and they sent me some of these Muses 8820 op-amps to replace the stock 5532s. My, this amp/DAC sounds pretty damn good for $599, and with the Muses ($899 is the price with these installed) it sounds very nice. Articulate, punchy, smooove! I likey. Anyone used these parts? October 25, 201213 yr Author Woops, my bad. They're the Muses 01 not the 8820. But I'm still interested if anyone has tried either. And correct linky for the Muses 01. Edited October 25, 201213 yr by Tyll Hertsens
October 26, 201213 yr http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/MUSES01/MUSES01-ND/2202385?cur=USD $50 a pop for those opamps Interesting, the Essence One supports simultaneous output on the headphone and speaker. That'd be nice along with the actual volume knobs. Might have to give the non Muses version a look over
October 26, 201213 yr High praise for something I didn't expect to be all that great. Is it worth the cost tyll?
October 26, 201213 yr Author I think so. The price is right; lots of features. Socketed 8-pin DIPs to roll op-amps. Seems like very good value to me. Edited October 26, 201213 yr by Tyll Hertsens
