You'll probably get more answers in the Stax thread. But the amps that I heard were integrateds (~10-20 watt) with lambda pros and sr-404 and they didn't sound very good at all.

Oh yeah, they said I would need 35W to 40W, 8 ohms. I must have forgotten to say that earlier. :P I suppose integrated amplifiers usually don't go up that high? I think that's why I was guessing I would need around 50W into 8 ohms as my power requirement earlier.

The OP can always get Mikhail to add a gain switch when he sends the PPX back to add the pre-amp output so he has room to play with volume.
