Any OSX software that down-covert ALAC as it's placed in iPod?

Featured Replies

I have most of my CD's backed-up/ripped in ALAC. While this works well if I want to burn some songs or albums on to CDR, I really don't need to these files to be in ALAC for my iPod. I suppose I could just convert them all to lower bitrate onto another hard drive, but I really don't want to do that (i.e., lazy). Are there any OSX software that would down-convert the music as I put them on my iPod?

I had forgotten about applescripts, thanks!

I'll look through them and see if they have anything.

sure thing! ;D

I could have swore I had one that did what you were looking for back when I had my powerbook.

Has anyone found anything like this for windows? I had to convert everything to aac, put in on my iPod, and then delete all the aac's. Kind of a pain..

I know Anapod from Red Chair software used to do something like this, but IIRC, it doesn't support ALAC, so it's kinda useless.

And thanks, ojnihs! I found what I was looking. Lossless to AAC Workflow
