Hello!  I am building a set of DIY headphones in a headphone shell that has a 50mm mount.  I could also add an adapter to accommodate a 40mm driver.  I am looking for a nice driver for this shell.  I tried two different drivers from Aliexpress and neither were very good.  Any suggestions?

Yes. Buy some broken or janky headphones that you like the sound of on ebay or such.

You're better off scavenging drivers than finding stand alone drivers to buy.

Which brings to mind, I've always wanted to hear K1000 drivers in an over the ear headphone body.

Good idea.  Find a set of broken high end headphones. 

Not so easy!  Not much on Ebay. 

You'll be better off posting an ad asking about broken headphones. I'd also post on that other headphone forum.
