burn in? new pads? or is that the wolff tuning pads?

Maybe it's a combination of needing burnin, and the lack of the huge ass wood cups, and crazy furutech xlrs (unless you're using that stuff, then it's probably burnin)?

my guess is that it's mostly to do with the pads. btw, tiberian, the 650s with balanced cardas (furutech XLRs) sounded quite nice out of the balanced outputs on the Lavry Black. not dynamite nice, but nice.

did any of you guys notice a very strong sonic signature? i think the furutech cardas sounds plain weird when compared to the zu mobius.

it was at the end of the meet that i heard them, and i was way too headphone overloaded to get any impressions other than "it sounds nice".

Speaking of new vs. old Senns, I had a chance to hear the new production HE90 and the old production HE90 from the same amp (ES1) last night (life can get tough sometimes). They are different in construction, and the new production is the better headphone. Going up to NJ in a couple of minutes, so you may hear more about this.
