This site claims they will make you an ST to Toslink cable:
SILFLEX Glass Toslink MiniPlug Digital Audio Optical Cables, ST, Mini Plug, Duplex and Armored
No idea on the cost or company reputation though. An expensive option is to get a Digital Lens that will do the conversion for you. Toslink -> DL -> ST Optical -> Parasound.

Anyone else having email issues with OS 4? When I have the "Organize by Thread" functioned turned on I keep getting phantom emails placed into exisiting groups. For example, if I have 3 emails from someone that are group into one item with a '3' next to it (and I have other groups of emails with varying #'s as well). I'll check email and it will tell me that I downloaded 2 emails but they won't be new. I'll look and the email group with '3' before will now be '4' but there is no 4th email. The other "new" email will get put into another group. Only way I can get the phone to correctly display the '3' again is a phone reset. I don't normally power my iPhone down or do a reset that often so I've been just letting it happen. It's more annoying than anything else. At least it groups the emails correctly...

How is the hole in case for the headphone jack? I'm still searching for a JH13 connector friendly case.

Anyone have a caliper and JH13's handy? I need the diameter of the base of the plug (circle of plastic). Best I can get with a ruler is ~8mm.

Just returned it for a replacement, made three calls on the replacement sofar and the phone went to my contacts once, made two attempts at FaceTime chat all while I was holding the phone to my ear...ugh!

ugh, that's a big fail. Can you cut the case so that it can fit?
I guess I could but the case tolerances are tight. No telling how it will look afterwards either. I was planning on picking up a case eventually this just shortens search timeframe. That previously linked bamboo case looks cool. I sent an email to the guys, if the standard case hole size won't work I hope they can do a custom one for me.

Amendment to my previous post:
Apple Bumper = FAIL, JH13 cannot be plugged in with the bumper installed. Time to look for another case.

Here are some thoughts on 4 vs 3G after a day or so of use:
Screen: Absolutely stunning. I watched about 15 minutes of the Bourne Identity (ripped via Handbrake using the old iPhone setting) and I was blown away. I thought the movie looked great on my 3G. I can easily pick out the non-OS 4 app icons as they look like shit compared to the new icons. I haven't tried any games yet but I'm looking forward to it.
Battery life: I fully charged the phone after I got home from the store yesterday (~10am) and I haven't plugged it in since. I'm now at ~50% battery. I've been surfing on 3G (30 min at dentist this morning) and plenty of app use and surfing at home on Wifi. I've been checking email regularly as well. As advertised, the battery is big step up from my 3G.
Processor/RAM: Fast as hell. This was my #1 complaint with my 3G. Everything loads faster and I don't get a huge lag when I open a new page in Safari.
Reception: Wifi has been on par with my 3G. Cell reception has been ok although I had two dropped calls yesterday while sitting in my home office. I have used the Apple bumper from the beginning so I can't comment on reception without using it.
Video/Camera: I shot a video yesterday and snapped a few pictures but I haven't really compared pictures to my 3G.
What I don't like so far:
1. Why the hell did Apple take away the option to customize Double-Clicking the Home button in OS 4? I realize this is now for App switching but I used this all the time on my 3G to bring up my phone favorites. There is an option for a Triple Click for Accessibility features and it would have been nice to be able to customize the triple click functionality.
2. The Silence/Ring switch doesn't stick out far enough which makes it very hard to used while in the Apple bumper and will probably not get any better with other cases.
3. I really wish there was a way to mark multiple email message read. I also had an issue where the phone would not mark emails as read even after I had open them. I reset the phone and its been working since.

i asked one of my customers who is a manager at an AT&T store last night about the noncontract price in our email from the reserve from the iphone app and he said he see's no reason why the people at the Apple store won't be able to check if you can get the discount and apply it, he noted the app reserve process probably didnt check anyones account info for upgrades cause there is no rate plan listed in the email...so Apple just reserved one for us and will work out the price/plan when we pick it up..which makes sense. but he told me to ask Apple to be sure..
Just talked to a guy at my local store and confirmed my reservation. He looked it up by my name so no confirmation number, etc. I also confirmed that the store will be able to look up my upgrade status and my price will be adjusted correctly. Of course I won't know how well this process will work until the 24th and given the way yesterday went it may not happen smoothly.

So I just got through on Apple website Pre-order. Under the Online store option it says "Ships June 24th" and there is no in store pickup option. So this makes me feel like my reservation (confirmed via email at 12:30pm today) should be good.

I got the confirmation email. Even though I had to use my cell phone #, ZIP and SSN it still had my price for the phone in the email as $699 (it was listed correctly as $299 before I processed the reservation).

The Apple online Store and AT&T have been a complete failure for me. Using the Apple Store iPhone App I have successfully reserved one at my local store for pickup on June 24th. I'm skeptical because there is no payment involved with a reservation so I'm going to keep trying to preorder.

Looks like I'll be pre-ordering a 32GB tomorrow. I've had my original iPhone 16GB sitting in the closet waiting to activate it for my wife but never got around to it (she's not much for smart phones). Now with the new data plans I'll giver her my 3G and add the $15 data plan, upgrade to the 4 and keep my unlimited plan. All of this will be cheaper than an iPad (key selling point).
Looking at eBay the the iPhone 2G 16GB are selling for $200+!! Are people in non-3G areas buying these? I was thinking the going rate would be $75-100.

In looking at the JH website I am more interested in this than anything else I own. I am very very seriously considering selling my GS-X/DAC3/HD800&HD650 setup.....

I share your semi-frustration with the power switches on the 12L's and I'm actually working on something for that. My plan is to use a switched AC relay coupled to a box with two receptacles for the 12L power cords so that a single switch can safely turn them on and off without the annoyance of giving them each a reach around. Should I arrive at something remotely approaching elegant I'll share it.
I never understood why Quad didn't put an input trigger on their actives. Back when I was pondering actives a couple of these popped up on Audiogon/eBay:

I started a response to the capacity debate a little while ago but was interrupted by work... I think the feature I enjoy the most on the iPhone 4 is the camera/video capture. Coupled with the display and I have very portable solution for capturing the kids doing kid things and then I'm able to show the pictures and videos to friends. I bought the 32gb and as of this morning I have 12gb free. Although, I do have the phone loaded with music and Handbrake movies. I could probably get by with 16gb but I would be syncing and moving files more.
