I think the Omega 2 was originally released for around $4k in 2001. It's now around $2,650 retail.
If the C32 isn't going to be a limited edition, then it hopefully will drop in price too.

Not heard the DT48's - I had a pair of Beyers once (Darth Beyers) which I found a bit rolled off in the treble but huge boomy bass.
Sony R10's are great closed headphone but I doubt you'd want to go to the hassle of tracking down a pair and paying for them.
Didn't like the ATH-W5000 - the ATH-L3000 were better but also 4x the price, again if you can find a pair.
Hmm - if I had to wear a pair of closed headphones I'd either try a pair of Stax 4070, a pair of Thunderpants or a pair of Sony CD3000 and recable them with thick, well insulated copper cable (stock cable shockingly thin and bad). In that order.
Just remembered the Pleather earpads on the Sony CD3000 - I really, really hated it. Getting alternative earpads is imperative, if possible.
Forgot to mention the Denon D5000. They are also ok and probably closest to what you're looking for.

Great review - I was ambivalent about the C32 before, given the steep price, but this is tipping it towards the 'gotta try' and 'last headphone you'll ever buy' bucket.
I hope it's not a limited edition release and that the price will come down some in the future.
Edit: Oh - and excellent pics - thanks for sharing them!

I spent a few evenings reading all 78 issues of the comic and was really impressed. The author really doesn't pull any punches.
He also gave an interview about the show and stated that it will have enough surprises for fans of the comic to keep them guessing, which made me feel a lot better.
I'm already seeing quite a lot of differences in the show and like Alan Ball's version of the Sookie Stackhouse novels in True Blood, it seems to be a director's reimaging of someone elses world, albeit with the author's help, rather than a slavish (and lackluster) copy (like the Harry Potter books for instance).

Most useful illustration between the 13 and 16 earphones yet. It still doesn't remove all my indecision towards making a choice between the two, though my leaning would now be more towards the 16.
Presumably with the 3A dsp, the differences will become less relevant since you're able to adjust the bass to suit your taste?
I just wonder how the 3A is able to control the points of crossover to the drivers with only a single signal to all 6 or 8 drivers.

I have a pair of custom ACS moulds that fit on my Shure SE530 that are made of silicone.
Had the impressions made by a pretty girl in Harley Street though even so, the resulting product isn't perfect. Perhaps I should have closed my mouth
However, because silicone is definitely more flexible than acrylic, that's not a huge problem. They erred on the side of too small rather than too large and after a while, a natural seal is formed anyway. Reasonably comfortable and I can certainly live with it since it's not that expensive (around

The stuff I use - a little goes a long way.
Not sure how easy this stuff is to get abroad. I had to send a cheque to the guy - who clearly operates out of his home, for some of this stuff.
Oh - and don't let the missus start using it to polish your furniture with it. Unless you love that furniture very very much. I seem to remember it's around $15 for the 200ml can.

Also noticed on Justin web that he's going to build another final 4 aristeaus. I know its a soul mate for orpheus but how does aristeaus fare with O2 or HE60 ?
I had an O2 and an Aristaeus and it sounded very good to my ears. Noticeably better than the Stax SRM-T1 I have and I only let it go because I wanted to move to a BHSE which I hear is a better match.
I've read posts and heard from others that the Aristaeus is on par with the KGSS when driving the O2's.

I just bought a 1lb reel of Kester 245 solder online and the date of manufacture is 11/30/04.
The website says that their leaded solder 'goes off' after 3 years. Given this is almost 6 years old, should I return it or not worry about it and just use it?
Slightly reluctant to return it as Kester is not so easy to get locally here in the UK and I wanted to buy a decent/premium product for my first forays into serious (non-disastrous) soldering.

I bought an HTC Desire because I could get one cheaper on a contract than an Iphone + lots of people at work recommended it.
I immediately got hooked on the Mafia Live/Ninja Live/Pets Live/Vampires Live/Zombies Live turned-based multiplayer games.
The phone is light-years ahead of what I had before (a sony erricson camera phone) and I really like seeing what it can do.
Google Maps is great - but need WiFi really. 3G is too slow.
Installed Swype beta (you type by dragging your finger across the onscreen keyboard - much faster than tapping with 1 finger). Makes texting much less painless and even fun.
The native browser software is great, formatting and zooming web pages with just a double tap and very useable.
I installed a couple of emulators onto it - a Sega Megadrive (Gensoid) and a Commodore 64 (Frodo). Limited use - the interface isn't quite there for serious gaming. I got quite excited when I could download the Zork and Hitchhiker games by Infocom for the C64 but the requirement of those games to do lots of typing means I won't play them unless I have a few hours to kill and no internet web access. It'd need to be Ipad size and/or have a proper controller/joystick really. Perhaps better to stick with the games designed for this format.
Lots of free apps available on the Android market place - games and other things, usually with a rating.
Battery life stinks.
