There is still a possibility, but I believe, at least at this time, it appears to be pretty low. There are real concerns about the difficulty/safety in holding a meet that depends on close interaction between participants such as sharing of headphones and other equipment in very close quarters.

Don't be too sure! We may be able to do this later in the year if we can find a convenient date. We would still like to do a headphone meeting if at all possible!

My bad! I should have placed notifications on the headphone groups also! At this point we do not know when we can have another meeting. We are looking at doing a streaming presentation, but it would be limited to information presentation and not listening. Most of our meetings are about listening to music over specific systems or equipment. NO real way to translate one of these to a streaming program.

APRIL 26 UPDATE Club members and friends I have an exciting announcement adding to the raffle. We have some exciting news to share! Another company that has supported our meets in the past has stepped forward to contribute to this meet. Arthur Power of Matrix Audio and Violectric Audio USA is added to our co-sponsors for the event! Matrix is picking up the costs of the refreshments! Since they have very generously doubled our normal budget, and since the meet starts at noon, this will allow us to provide a light lunch in addition to our usual snacks! Also… there will be a raffle! I am currently reviewing a set of powered speakers that do pretty much everything you can ask for including pre-amp and DAC duties. These speakers are the Vanatoo Transparent One Encore! From what I can tell so far these things may be the Swiss Army Knife of powered speakers! Add a source and you have a system! Gavin Fish of the Gavin Fish agency, arranged for me to review these speakers. He has also arranged with the two engineers, Gary Gesellchen and Rick Kernen, who own the company, for us to raffle them off at the meet! Once my review is published, I’ll provide a link so you see my opinion of these! Of course, we’ll try to pick up a few more items between now and then just to make the raffle a little more interesting! So happy everyone enjoyed themselves! The lady with the Focal Utopias was at her second meet and vows to return next year WITH the Utopias this time so stay tuned!! I had a ball and just wished I had had time to hear more of the systems. BTW, I did get the HifiMan Supermini working perfectly today. Turns out I needed to install a firmware update that fixed all the problems we experienced yesterday. Listening to it right now and it even plays my Sennheiser HD580 and 650 louder than I care to listen!! Listening to it through my HifiMan HE400i's and the sound is amazing for the tiny little player that it is!! Keep the first Sunday in May open next year. Hopefully we'll be doing it again. Remember that this is NOT like our regular meetings. You can come at any time from 12N to 5:00 PM. You can wander the tables and see and hear many of those products you have only heard about on the Head-FI, Head-Case, and Superaudiobestfriends websites. Schiit Audio will be partnering with us to sponsor the May headphone meet! They will be providing some of the funding and some of their current production equipment as well as several items that will be new to the market. The new equipment will not have been introduced in any venue yet. This will be its “sort-of” introduction! Grover Neville of Schiit Audio will be providing us an equipment list as soon as he is able. I will make sure the equipment listings get on this website as soon as I have them. There will be an initial list, which will be added to once Schiit Audio releases the new equipment they will be demonstrating. I finally got to listen to them toward the end of the meet. I listened using a needle drop that I recorded of a well known London FFRR recording and they were remarkably true to the original recording. The musical balance and quality of sound was very close to what I experience on my home system. Of course, being headphones they can't convey the soundstage width and depth of the home system but I was really impressed with their open and detailed sound. One of the best sounds I heard at the meet.

There was a cosmetic problem with the initial run and Audeze didn't want them shown when less than perfect. Proud parents! Heard they sound spectacular though! Great pictures and lots of fun at the meet. For many attendees it was their first meet and they were blown away at the equipment that was shown! At the same time it was great to renew old acquaintances and make new ones!

A last minute reminder that while we will provide multiple AC sources, you will need to bring your own extension cords and power strips!

I originally felt the same way. Then I realized that in most of the smaller meets I have been to, the exhibitors and listeners tended to gravitate to the same side of the table when listening. I had someone on another headphone forum tell me he had been in meets with round tables that worked well. People flowed around the edge of the tables. It looks as though we will have to rent a number of 6x30s anyway, so there will probably be both. In your case, I'm sure we'll be able to provide a couple of 6x30s or the equivalent.

I need a quick opinion. The Dunwoody North Driving Club (DNDC) has a number of round tables capable of seating 8-10 people in a banquet type situation. I had planned on renting a number of 6 foot by 30 inch rectangular tables for this event. However, some of us are thinking that the round tables would work. Does anyone have any experience in using these tables for a headphone meet? Do you have an opinion about using them? They are large and as many as two to three exhibitors might share one to show off their system. And, we have enough that we think the 5 or so vendors will be able to have one maybe two tables if necessary. Let me know your thoughts on this ASAP. If we can use the round tables, it will save us some money and aggravation! John
