September 23, 200817 yr There is a basically new Pro-ject RM-5 SE table on the 'Gon right now for a pretty good price, and I know someone here has one (can't remember who right now). Just wanted to know what the owner thinks about the table.
September 23, 200817 yr Well I dig mine, but I don't have any other TT's to compare with so that's pretty meaningless.

September 23, 200817 yr It's built really well, and looks pretty damn cool. The tonearm lift lever is really convenient and will hopefully keep me from wrecking any more records or needles, and the only button on it is the on/off switch. There's settings for tracking weight and anti-skating, but that's about it (which is fine with me, it's less to worry about). Also the phono cable is removable for trying out different ones, but the included one seems fine to me. The one small inconvenience is that to play 45s you have to take the platter off and move the belt onto a different wheel, but that takes like 5 seconds and is much easier than it sounds.

September 23, 200817 yr Get a Technics 1200Mk2 or later series and.... rewire the tonearm w/cardas, replace stock cable with something decent, LP Zupreme headshell KAB external PSU Funkfirm Achromat KAB Strobe Disabler (optional) Now you're talking
