It's a normal CD made in a special manufacturing process. Some have claimed it offers cleaner sound, but some said it can also sound harsh/digital/trebly/cold/whatever.

EDIT: WAV data is the same, so the difference comes from lasers/jitter/whatever mojo inside CDPs.
