I had satellite for more than a couple of years. I'd suggest moving, or possibly suicide.
Keeping my fingers crossed for this: www.arcticfibre.ca

Don't even ask what I pay.

I've gotten good mileage from a mid eighties Technics SL-10. Nice compact and relatively idiot-proof unit with a built-in phono preamp.
Prices vary but they can be had regularly for a couple of hundred bucks.

Damn that Parasound is super nice. I've long had a thing for good mini-systems. This is the first rig I've seen which makes me consider ditching my old Toshiba system 15 stack.
I now hate you.
Lots.

So far the Pico Power out of a Fostex HP-P1 into W4Rs is very good indeed.
No idea why though but it sounds horrid though a pair of 25-II-I Senns.

Because these are the same people who decided to name their company Schitt.
I think I may have just soiled myself laughing.

Now a robot that could iron shirts...
Fuck; I'd marry it!

While I own and listen to some NIN I always found the sound a bit derivative of the Young Gods.

So maybe common sense isn't quite out of fashion after all.
I'm afraid not. Jon Stewart is still making excuses for having Cat Stevens sing Peace Train after advocating that Salman Rushdie should be killed.
Stewart's lost a lot of credibility in this household.

I use a Playstation 3 Eye on my Mac.

My oldest piece in regular use is a Fisher 500-C. Mainly as a headamp.

Koss are a strange company; period.

My CD3Ks sound substantially better out of the Woo2 than out of my PPx3.

Anyone have any opinions on this vintage receiver as both a headphone amp and a speaker amp?
I seriously love mine.
Enough to covet one of these beauties too.
Definitely a good idea to go through and re-cap everything before something blows up. I'm thinking about just disconnecting/removing any circuits I won't need like the tuner and tone controls so I won't need to deal with as many tubes.Yeah, any Fisher of that vintage really should be looked at before any serious use as I found out.
I'd been procrastinating about getting it looked at as I'd been having too much fun listening to it. Some caps blew in mine and had to be replaced.
She's back from the tech now and working but I recently got one of those cap boards from Triode and having my local tech build it up and install it.
It does seem a shame to disable the tone controls and tuner just to save on tubes.
I don't really use the tuner section on mine as I live in a remote area with little in the way of FM radio stations. The couple of stations I do get show it to be a very capable tuner.
I do use the tone controls however and they are a very welcome feature.
I should add that my experience is mainly as a headphone amp.
I haven't really got any speakers on hand to do it justice but I would really welcome some knowledgeable recommendations that go low and fill a small to medium sized room.
Everything I read in the Stereophile article turned out to be more or less true.
I've been liking mine a lot.

I pre-bought it a couple of months ago for $10 and will be playing it on the PS3.
Kids have moved out so I can game as loud as I want.

So why bother to reply?
Same reason as you just posted.

Nice one.
Too bad I only have one pair of Grados and am not much of a fan.

When I got my SKS it took forever to get all of the cosmoline off of the rifle.
Cosmoline!
That's what that %$#@ing stuff is called!

I always finish every gun cleaning by running an very lightly oiled patch over the whole thing, barrel included.
I could understand that it "may" be a bad idea to fire a gun that's still dripping in packing grease as that can be pretty thick stuff but I've never yet seen a civilian gun thus shipped.

I bought season one on DVD and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm now patiently waiting for season 2 to be released.
I can't be bothered to watch shows on TV during the season. I'd much rather watch a whole season in a few sittings on DVD than have to tune in at the correct time each week.
RIP someone or another
