Camera Warfare. Funniest thing I've seen in awhile
-
$800 is not as bad as I expected with 22mm f/2 lens and the flash included. But add the EF-M adapter, it's $1000, and now we're too close to used 5D II prices, which will still spank the 18 MP APS-C sensor.
I think I'll wait until the price drops to $650 ish within a year or so.. or never.

Just saw Canon store has refurb S95 with coupon code SHIP712 = $224 shipped! If you ever wanted a pocketable camera with largish sensor, it might be time.

Thanks, guys.
My friend is making me sell my Canon FL55mm f/1.2 manual lens (EdMika adapter) to him, so I broke it out tonight before parting..

Rogue recently launced a line of tube/class D hybrids:

One of the Samsung offerings has tubes built right into the speaker enclosure, which may not have been a decision made solely on sonic quality alone

I'm going with an immature Black-Crowned Night Heron.
Someone suggested Green Heron, but by God, I think you're right. I didn't know Black-Crowned Night Heron changes feather color from young to mature!

Awesome, Jon, as usual. How far away were you?
Good question. I had the 70-200 at 200 mm with 2X TC MkIII on, and the photo has probably 30% cropped off, so I was a good distance away. I wish I knew what kind of bird this was..

I pulled the Sylvania 2a3s and popped in the JJs I had on hand and both are really good.
EC 2A3 is a superb amp, which I always loved every time I tried it. But if you get a chance, EML 2A3 solid plates are going to be in a different league from Sylvanias.

Looks like haziness is due to flare from the window directly facing the lens top right. If the window was shaded or photo taken from the opposite direction, it shouldn't be hazy any more.

Much appreciated

The camera was never posted, I don’t think there was any camera. I talked to the guy on the phone, he sounded honest, sent me me pics (of some camera). Contact was good for the first week, then nothing, he vanished into thin air.
Wow, that sux. It's really difficult to ascertain credibility of people on local listings where there is no feedback system, i.e. ebay or Agon ratings. If using local ads, I try to show up with cash in hand for personal exchange, but then again, I once drove an hour and waited another hour for the "nice guy" seller who never showed up and stopped answering (I presume) bogus google voice number.
