I have not had good success with OCR, and it needs to be 100% reliable. I don't want to have to check every single image file created for every little detail. Just an image is all I need. These will be receipts, which get subjected to the usual wear and tear of a paper receipt.
Have you given ABBYY FineReader a shot? I've heard good things for it's PDF handling and OCR.

I paid $3 for my monster cable usb...and it even comes with a led to let you know it's got power!

4 days of wireless connectivity at the CanJam hotel.
How much are they charging for that?
-
Ah, the classic foible...think of it as a challenge, stay under budget. In fact, don't even feel obliged to spend the entire US$2K.
So true! Also, once you get started bumping up the budget it's even easier to start thinking of what you could with even more!

I have a bunch of IEC power cords here, I'll bring one along when I head over tomorrow. It's a computer power cable though, and the left over bits in the power cord may or may not affect your enjoyment of music from your device.

I'm in Cali, but will be heading over to the hotel tomorrow. Looking forward to the fun!

I was not unhappy to begin with, but nonetheless I like prizes

We have a winner! No, it's pretty clear, we have a loser
Is it possible to be both at the same time?
-
Almost as far as this man
Is anyone from the UK attending Canjam? - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
According to Distance Calculator: How Far Is It? — Infoplease.com
Hastings, United Kingdom (Populated Place, United Kingdom) -> Los Angeles, California (Populated Place) = 5507.5 Miles
Aomori, Japan (Railroad Station, Japan) -> Los Angeles, California (Populated Place) = 5245.3 Miles
I think we have a winner!
So whats with all the "I have a family" or "It's too far" excuses now
To be precise, I'm taking a flight from Aomori down to Haneda, taking a transfer to Narita, then flying out.
So the actual distance traveled in flights alone would be:
Aomori Railroad Station, Japan (Railroad Station, Japan) -> Haneda, Japan (Section Of Populated Place, Tokyo) Distance: 368.3 miles
Narita, Japan (Second-Order Administrative Division, Japan) -> Los Angeles, California (Populated Place) Distance: 5455.6 miles
5823.9 miles

Two more days and then I have a rather long plane ride towards CanJam:D

That's why you get the underlings to do the terminations?
-
for the UPOCC, are you braiding them + techflex?
-
I can't view imageshack pictures from work, but if it's rated for 115/250v 50/60hz it'll work fine on 100v

The word ohms sounds great! That sounds like he knows his stuff

That's ok, we don't need to have new threads created for simple questions. You don't need to worry about controlling things like that.
Good point, my apologies for being a tard.
-
This thread is about the buffalo, yes; but it's not quite about purchasing a pre-built one though
-
hope something obvious jumps out and hits me in the face.
Hopefully that something isn't a cap gone nuclear.

Is it too late to say I found the epsilon board yesterday? Progress is looking good, looks like you didn't need it anyways
-
I finished the endplate for one of my dac's, also cut and route a rosewood front plate but not terribly excited about it so I may make another one out of a different wood.
-
Yeah, between that thread and the Valab DAC mod thread (Valab NOS DAC - subjective listening and modifications - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio), plenty of crud on the inside of the monitor (great analogy by the way... my monitor is glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read it ). I keep getting the visual of jumping the shark in that one, but decided better to just stay out of these types of threads and treat them as a car crash in progress.
Interconnect with a toroid inline? I've never heard of that...

Yeah, the wire is stored in my basement (where all evil things belong) and the basement is colder. So in truth we use a semi-cryo process which offers the benefit of cryo while not going too far. Really, it's the perfect blend of cryo/non-cryo technology.
Wait, you mean you have a balanced blend of cryo/non-cryo technology? I heard everything is better balanced!
-
you want nugget brand UPOCC, it's moar colder
so it's been cryo'd?
-
There was some definite fuzziness with the Class A talk, first it sounded like they were saying the DAC chip was running in class A, then the power supply was class A...
I prefer my DAC chips to run in class D...for digital!
-
Thanks for the info Justin, I didn't realize that was the case with the PCM1704, I have only had limited experience with DAC's that don't get nearly so hot.

Did you try calling the hotel to find out if you could get another night for the same price?
