  1. Unfortunately, I sold and shipped off the other set yesterday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. In case anybody was wondering or didn't already know, the secondaries all of Antek's transformers have 2 individual coils which can be wired in series or parallel, so they can be used as center tapped transformers. In this case, this spritzer-selected transformer would serve the role of a 30VCT transformer perfectly : http://www.antekinc.com/as-0515-50va-15v-transformer/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks, glad I asked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Would this one also work? http://www.antekinc.com/as-3t275-300va-275v-transformer/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Are there any non-custom transformers that would work, maybe something from Antek? Or is custom the way to go? Also, is there any reason not to mount the tubes on top of the amp with chassis mount sockets (aside from the extra work)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If it helps at all, I was able to get a matched quad of 6s4a for $32 from http://vacuumtubes.net. They seem to be one of the few places with a large enough stock to do any matching Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Would the KGDT have enough oomph for the 007? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I asked both tube depot and the tube store about getting matched quads, but they both told me they don't have a large enough stock to put together a matched quad. I asked tubemazestore this morning, but haven't heard back yet. However it turns out vacuumtubes.net does have a large stock. They said each tube is $4 and there is a $4 per tube charge to match them electronically, so $32 for a matched quad. I'm putting my order in now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks Birgir. I was a little worried since I haven't been able to find any matched quads, (maybe I'm looking in the wrong places) so Its good to know I can get away with a set of matched pairs though, since those seem to be available on ebay. Too bad the amp being ccs doesn't obviate the need for matched sets. Don't know where I got that bit from... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Are there any substitutes for the 6s4a? I've been looking and asking around a bit, but I haven't found anything. I'm mostly just curious, since it seems like you can get a ton 6s4a tubes off ebay for cheap. Also, is it correct that getting a matched quad is unnecessary since the amp is ccs? If that's true, then its ok to mix brands, since they should all be made to the same specifications, right? Btw, if these are dumb questions and/or my statements are inaccurate, sorry, this would be my first project so I'm still in the learning phase Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I bet not even the crack smoking mayor of Toronto would think the 507 is warm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Les, you've probably already found this, but just in case, check out the top of this page: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/comparing-world-class-headphones-stax-sr-007 Oh, by the way, PriceJapan is great.
  13. You could try an HD600 headband pad replacement. It's a little tricky to get on, but it's comfy. There's probably a good way to keep it attached but I haven't really messed with it
  14. So would you consider the Mk2 something like a Frankenstein of the Mk1 and the 009? Not necessarily in a "best of both worlds" sense, but as in some sort of mash-up between the two
  15. Damn it! I just bought a Mk2.5 for about the same price oh well, I still love 'em
