Because a 5 lbs device with 3 hours battery life is a replacement for 1/2 lb device with ~ 30-40 hours of battery life. Nope. Not seeing it. In any case, a laptop is not an inter-operable file format...

I kinda like it. Then again, I did buy the PRS-500 on it's release, so I figure I'm the target audience for this sort of thing. I hate the fact that there isn't a standard DRM eBook format that's inter-operable between devices though. I already have about 20 books on Sony and moving to Amazon's Kindle would stop me from accessing them without rebuying. Not sure it's really intended for net browsing. More for push content like newspapers, blogs, etc. $10/month for WSJ delivered straight to my EBook? $2/month for magazines? Not bad at all. Admittedly, content is kinda sparse on that end.
  3. Nah, it's Edwood's ongoing complaint about Head-Fi.
  4. Exlax is possibly lethal to cats. Not too sure that anything particularly cruel would be legal due to animal cruelty laws either. BB pistol, low velocity pellet rifle, and high velocity airsoft guns are probably the best non-lethal ways to convince a cat to leave and not come back. That or a motion activated sprinkler system. Neither option is too likely to be construed as animal cruelty as long as the animal is on your property. Though, you might run into firearms discharge laws with the pellet guns. Either way, I'd rather trap it and tell the owner it's taking a trip to animal control the next time you catch it.
  5. Glad I didn't bet. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/14593387/detail.html Sounds like it did work...
