  1. Looser101: not that it matters all that much, but is your order for 3 stereo amps, or one balanced and one stereo? Just trying group some of the harder to group transistors tonite and this would be marginally helpful :)

    One balanced, one stereo.

    Thanks

  2. I wish I could advise you further. Like audio, everyone sees somewhat differently as well. Neither technology is perfect. Some people see the shortcomings of plasma and that really bothers them. For me the shortcomings of LCD really bother me. Obviously this is from my own personal, limited, experience. Also TV's are really hard to shop for in-store. LCD's always look so much better in that environment. If your passion is to see a good movie, and enjoy how it was meant to be viewed, then for me the choice is plasma.

  3. I would recommend you do some research and consider raising your budget so you can jump past Vizio and do right by yourself. Wait and save if you have to. It will be well worth it to you in the long run. :)

Then go out and buy a Panasonic Plasma and never look back. >:D

  4. It needs to be clarified if you guys are using Rustoleum or Krylon. They both seem to be a bit different in how they react with the previous layers to get the hammered look right, and how much needs to be applied per coat.

The Rustoleum stuff does seem to take forever to dry. (and I don't much care for it) I have had better luck with Krylon by far.

No idea, it was store branded.

    Looking good Smeggy.

  5. I had a go with hammered paint in the past. To get a good looking hammered look you need to spray rather heavily to the point of it looking wet/shiny. Multiple light coats did not work for me, it looked like poop. The only problem then becomes trying not to cross the fine line where you get runs in the paint.

It also took days to cure/harden. You have to be careful not to ding it up meanwhile.

I also had to remove the back grille in order to get the front one off (because there was a fair amount of glue holding it on.

Putting it back together was 8/10 on the tricky scale, where replacing omega2 pads is a 6.

...and it looks like yours. The pins are J shaped and go through to the plastic frame and then back up. One end goes to the driver wires, the other to the PCB. I decided to wait to rewire mine.
