  1. Quote from PCBNet.

The HV900 PCB has been changed from Dual to Singles, all amount in the sheet in rgrds to HV900 has been adjusted to x2 the previous.
Latest quote price has been entered as well, and an estimated price for caps+boards been calculated.

Please confirm your order in the sheet

The GB will be closing by the end of this week, and the order submitted to PCBNet (caps are already ordered by JDineshk)

    /Thanks

Just to add, the HV900 boards should be the single type. So it'd be 4 HV900 boards per amp that way.

Also, could you offer the 450V fat/split PSU boards as well?

Sorry for late responding on this.

The HV900 has been changed to singles as requested.

I'll add the fat/split PSU to the sheet to probe interest. we need at least 10 boards to make it fly.

  2. Friends,

I recently had JRiver reorganize my music folder by ARTST\ALBUM\TRACK.  My old scheme was ARTIST - ALBUM\TRACK.  I like the new one better from an aesthetic point of view, and because I enjoy folders.  The problem is, now I have a shit ton of folders labelled something like "Bjork - Vespertine" that contain nothing except .log and .cue files, and perhaps some .jpg art files or liner notes.  I prefer to embed that stuff in the track, so I don't need the extra files.

I'd love to have a program that I could tell to delete any folder that did not contain (or whose subfolder did not contain) a music file.  Does something like that exist?

how about renaming the root of the tree eg. c:\music -> c:\music_old

make a new folder having the original name c:\music

    do xcopy /s c:\music_old\*.flac  c:\music\

    xcopy /s c:\music_old\*.jp*  c:\music\ etc

    rmdir c:\music_old

    shouldn't take that long ...

If you want jpg's to be embedded mp3tag.de is a powerful tool that let you embed folder.jpg in each folder into the flac's ...

Bit of an annoying problem, but I seem to have noise on my bias supply. I'm hearing buzzing and the occasional low frequency hum, and it continues well after the amp is turned off. The hum disappears if I touch the chassis (or any other grounded chassis) or power the amp down, but the buzzing persists.

I can't find the schematic right now, but it's the original BH power supply from Headwize: a voltage doubler floating on an adjustable divider from B+ to ground. All wired on perfboard, so it's possible that there's a ground loop somewhere in there.

    Any ideas?

    broken cable? loose connection somewhere?

  4. Using this book as a reference myself: Andras Batta "Opera" although is doesn't contain entire librettos it does give you some insight of the composer, some historical background and so on ... there are many similar 'comprehensive' references like that, I picked it up years ago on a bookstore sale, and use it from time to time ...

  5. Yeah, I hate touchpads too, so contributed a mouse to keep things going.  Jack (grandson) likes using mouse for quickness, so all good.

Curious, though, as to how widespread this is, and how quickly M$soft and hardware makers will take to resolve.

You might try to look through any available updates for Windows. The needed driver could be among those.
I've upgraded an old Samsung NC10 from Win7 -> Win10, and the Synaptics has been exchanged for PS/2 compatible driver from Microsoft, and works just fine
As a last resort you might try the Synaptics driver from Lenovo as it seems to work under Windows 10

  6. GROUP BUY CLOSED 4. NOVEMBER 2015

For gauging interest. This GB is intended to be add-on to the MWL168 Carbon Group Buy for anyone interested in building a Circlotron.
In addition to a full Carbon, two dual HV900 boards (circlotronhvpowerdualnewer2.ZIP) and two output & driver boards (kgsshvcarboncirclotrondriverv2.ZIP/kgsshvcarboncirclotron.ZIP) are needed.

Currently investigating a quote form PCBNet for:

    circlotronhvpowerdualnewer2.ZIP
    kgsshvcarboncirclotron.ZIP
    kgsshvcarboncirclotrondriverv2.ZIP

Furthermore FTCaps has been asked for delivery of the 470uF/550V caps required by the HV900 supply.
The main difference between the 680uF/550V(76mm) cap and the 470uF/550V(68) is the height, making it easier to fit everything inside a 5U chassie.
16 of 470uF/550V are needed for the Circlotron HV900 supplies.

Please state your interest in the sheet.
Price of the 470uF Caps, will be close to the estimate of 680uf/550V @ 12USD.

Estimated ship date from PCBNet rgrd the Circlotron boards 22 of september 2015

    /Thanks

    Thanks to S_R/NoPants for contributing

    Boards has been shipped.
Update: 470uF caps are comming 13/11 (according to FTCap). (17/10-2015)

  7. Update for the Caps Group Buy

The Mundorfs are no longer offered. Minimun order is 144 pieces, and the amount of wanted Mundorfs as of today was way below that amount.
Therefore the Mundorfs has been removed. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

I have checked the FTCap pinout against the Dual FAT, single FAT left/right, and the Gerbers seems just fine.
As for using the FTCaps on PSU boards prior to the current Golden Reference (Dual FAT, Single FATs) these will NOT be compatible

  8. Update on the Caps Group Buy.
Jdineshk has wired transfered money to FTCaps to get a place in the production queue at FTCaps.
I will be collecting payments from participants starting today.
I like to now start collecting payments from all. Please send your payment to my PayPal account ([email protected]). Please transfer as PayPal Gift.
The Groupbuy sheet has been updated:
The column D contains the total price based on the amount of caps ordered and the FTCap price estimate; the price does not include any duty/tax/shipping which will be calculated when ever we have the caps. Please update Column E, when you have done the PayPal payment: "Done" (the sheet has data validation for that column).
Please transfer the amount specified for your order, and put your Head-Case ID, and amount of caps in the note of your PayPal payment.

Actual shipping charge will need to be determined based on the actual weight of your caps and your shipping address, and will be determined as soon as we have the caps.

If you prefer not to use PayPal Gift, please include in your payment the applicable PayPal fee. This fee varies from country to country, you'll need to look it up at PayPal’s web site.

JDineshk is taking care of distribution of caps in US.
I take care of distributing non-US.
If someone wants to have have combined shipping with Carbon Boards please state that in the Groupbuy sheet as well (column F); and I'll work something out with Michael mwl168.

Please let me know if I missed something.

  9. For the past week I have been working with another Head-Case member (JDineshk) to be able to provide caps equal to the Mundorf currently offered, but at only 12USD/cap.

The caps are from FTCap in Germany, and have similar specs as the Mundorfs. The pinout and physical size of the FTCaps are compatible with the Golden Reference PSU boards. As far as I understand from my discussions with JDineshk, the FTCaps are of similar quality to the Mundrofs. The Group Buy will get the FTCaps directly from the manufactor thus we obtain a quite reasonable price on those.

I have updated the group buy sheet with two extra columns. Please show your interest in either.

    Thanks
