Working on build a water cooling Uberamp.
Snatched a cold plate off ebay.
I'm looking for advice to mount the transistors. I dont think I should drill and tap into the cold plate.
So I have 2 option:
1: 1/8 by 1 copper plates drilled to mount on the cold plate and sandwich the transistors in between.
-----copper plate-------
-----transistors----------
-----cold plate-----------
2: mount copper plates directly on the cold plate, drill mounting holes on the copper plates, counterbore the back side (the face contacting the cold plate).
-----transistors----------
-----copper plate-------
-----cold plate-----------
Any suggestions?
Here's a planned layout:
Drill and tap the transistors into a copper plate and once drilling and tapping is complete.
Use a thermal epoxy to bond the copper plate to the water blocks then you can mount transistors onto the tapped copper plate.

Waiting for the final quotes from the fab house. Once the quotes are in I will update the table with the total board payment for each participant.
At the point I will be collecting payments from all participants using PayPal and PayPal only. More details to follow in a few days.
You need to be specific about which boards you want and how many and whether you want the partially assembled or bare GRHVxxx boards. Read through this thread if the difference isn't clear to you - the information is all here - so you can make the right decision for yourself.
I did specify earlier in the thread I was responding to blueman's question on the line you quoted.
1 mini t2 set
4 grhv - assembled
2 GRLV78xx,
2 GRLV79xx
2 PSU main board

Yes whatever boards can be populated please do

1 mini t2 set
4 grhv
2 each GRLV78xx,
2 GRLV79xx
2 PSU main board
That should give me 2 full psu sets correct and 1 mini t2 amp set?
1 full psu should be good for the kgsshv carbon yes?

I have built a beta 22 and sigma 22 amps from amb. I have also repaired my blue Hawaii several times with live circuits for testing. I am just new to electrostatic amp construction from scratch. So I would love guidance.
Having said that.
I will take a full set for a mini t2 and psu.
Plus a full psu.

How many of these boards are needed for a mini t2 build? I would like to get it for 1 mini t2 and potentially a psu for 1 kgsshv carbon
Bare with me as im pretty new to the ES amp building.

Is there a significant advantage to the GRLV or is it simpler to just use the low voltage section on the GRHV?
-
I see,
What is the difference between the GRHV / GRLV? I see some people use the GRLV but do you need the GRHV in addition to the GRLV?

Hi thanks for all the replies,
I don't have any boards as of yet. So basically I will need 2 kgsshv boards and the grv full board to get started?
I did see a thread with the mouser project and a bom but there was several version of the bom so I am not sure which one to use for what board.

Hi new to the forum and I am interested in building a kgsshv or kgsshv carbon.
I have done other projects from amb.org built a beta22 / lcdduino / volume control system.
I am unaware if there are any guides or published places to get information on where to start these builds / parts lists?
I have found the circuit board gerber files and I am guessing I have to send those to get my pcbs manufactured? But I am a bit confused as there are many versions and variations of build files.
For example I see Kgsshvcarbon v1-6 and along eith them left / right / servo / ground.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I got it to work. Had to open in new tab for some reason.
