July 1, 200718 yr ... I kind of lost the will to live when faced with 'ripping' (i.e. Dig out to Puter) them in real time. Is there seriously not a method or a company who will rip DSD's and I dunno, maybe put them in 24/96 or something. Failing that a regular 16/44.1.
July 1, 200718 yr No DSD available, limited repertoir, albeit an option for 24/96 downloads http://www.linnrecords.com/linn-downloads.aspx [edit] I misunderstood your quest. You want to convert material that you already own.... Haven't seen anything to that extend yet...
July 1, 200718 yr CD ripping services cost around $1 +/- $0.25 per CD. SlimDevices offered CD ripping to FLAC and a number of formats in the past. The service is no longer available. ReadytoPlay is the most popular service that I know of: http://www.readytoplay.com/ Other services I am aware of are: http://www.riptopia.com/ - Riptopia and http://www.ripdigital.com/ - RipDigital I would recommend doing a Google search for forum threads or articles to see what people think about the different formats. As to whether they can do SACD 24/96... eeee. Not sure. Hope that helps!
July 2, 200718 yr I can do it, but not in the digital domain: Alesis ML-9600 Masterlink One can also do the same thing one does with vinyl -- rip it to a computer with an external soundcard.
July 3, 200718 yr Author Regular CD ripping services dont cater for DSD data which is why I was asking. Maybe I wasn't 100% clear so I'll just put it in more detail. I have a stack of SACD-only discs which I can downconvert (in the digital domain) to 16/44.1 CD if I so wished on my current SACD player. But this takes place in real time. It's just a colossal hassle to record it to a PC. So I was wondering if there was a service that did this for me.
