I was (web)crawling around the Sony site to see if there was an update to the OS of my SCD-CE775, and stumbled across this -- sorta explains why my Sony player fucked up my God Forbid DualDisc, dunnit.

I could come to hate Sony. I think I'm going to get rid of my player and get a Pioneer universal.

I wouldn't hate Sony as much as I would hate the jackasses that came out with dualdisc. It should have been pretty obvious that making a new disc that is thicker than cd's and dvd's would cause issues.

One of which was Sony. But yeah, I hate the specific subsets of those companies (EMI, Universal, Sony/BMG, Warner, and 5.1) that pursued DualDisc as a distribution medium. WTF?!? Is it that much cheaper to glue a CD and a DVD back-to-back than it is to just give us both, separately, in a digipak or double-sided jewel case or something?
